We stayed at the CP farm accommodation for a stag do in York and had a brilliant time.
We were a group of 12 guys in our late 20s so hired out both the Hay House and the Red Barn to fit us all in. Rooms range from bunk beds to double beds so it fitted us all in comfortably. It was also reasonably priced working out at £80 a head.
The 2 ‘barns’ have a courtyard area in between, perfect for sitting in the sun or eating outside on the tables. There is also a games room in the Hay House which is accessed from the courtyard. In the room it has table tennis, a small snooker table and some gym equipment.
The accommodation is quite far from York but does have a local pub and a Chinese nearby. When going to York there is a taxi company that does special deals for those staying at the barns- £20 for a taxi, £30 for a minibus. This worked out as £50 between 12 which was reasonable. The taxi ride is about 20-30 minutes each way so do factor that into your travel plans.
The area it is in is very quiet so we were conscious as to not make too much noise to disturb local residents. We didn’t get any complaints so couldn’t have been too loud.

We had a party of 7 split across 2 families with 3 children (ages 9, 13 & 15). Property ideal with 4 bedrooms, one en suite and a decent bathroom with shower. The large games room with table tennis, pool table, 2 exercise bikes and weight training was an excellent bonus. There is a sauna available as well at a small extra cost - we didn't use it but it looked very new and is a very decent size.
The bedrooms - double bunk room, 2 large doubles and one large double in the eaves (restricted headroom) were all excellent.
Slightly quirky layout with lounge and kitchen upstairs but again it just added to the holiday experience. There was everything you could need and more and the whole place has been done up very sympathetically with the age of the property.
Location in the village was excellent - 100 metres to a great village shop and less than that to The Black Horse pub. We didn't eat there as there was work being done on the kitchen but it looks a clean and tidy traditional country pub.
There is a Chinese takeaway about 1/4 mile away - we didn't try it but very handy. In case you are worried about the relative proximity of the railway on the map - don't be. Any trains going through are barely audible - some of our group hadn't even realised there were any trains!!
All in all a great place to stay being only 10 minutes to the York park & ride and equidistant from the coast and The Dales.
Highly recommended property and the owners were really helpful as well.
NB - the only downside is there is no garden, just a patio area out the back. Even this can be used to it's full potential as you can open up the patio doors from the double bedroom and use the seating area and TV at that end of the room. The room has a dividing curtain so you can close off the bedroom area. We used the patio area for bike storage as it's completely out of sight. We had 7 bikes and could still use the table and chairs.
