We stayed at Minster House the last weekend of September 2014 for a family weekend, 11 adults. Right from the initial enquiry, the communication was first class. The property itself was ideal with all the facilities you would want. Tea and coffee were available on arrival after our journeys. I would thoroughly recommend this house, everything worked out great and we were all very pleased. Thank you Janet
We stayed here for our daughter's wedding and it was perfect.. Close to York Minster, St Michael Le Belfrey; easily reached from the station and by car; ample room for everyone with everything provided that could possibly be needed. It was like a home from home--- pre wedding preparations were easily achieved as we made use of the large kitchen and patio to "do flowers" for the venue. Plenty of room to have other guests join us for supper before and after the wedding day, as if we had been at home. Janet also found us a wonderful hairdresser who came to the house! Brilliant. Coffee and chat , hairdos and make-up without leaving! Lovely memories. Even the staircase looked extremely well in the leaving photos of the bride and her Dad!! Any negatives?? Car parking. We had 3 parking places but one is in the garage but is not suitable for 4x4 or larger cars as the garage door would not close. Be aware of the parking restrictions. Janet had us well informed of them, but in the euphoria of an excellent weekend we parked on the wrong part of the street and had to pay the consequences!!
Overall an excellent house. Would love an excuse for a return visit!

This house is perfect. It has six double / twin bedrooms, four of which are very large, together with three bathrooms and a downstairs cloak. This makes it ideal for a family get-together or for a large group of friends, allowing for the right balance between time together and privacy (plus no queueing for the bathroom). The living areas are beautifully furnished and the kitchen is fully equipped.
The house is also in a great location - five minutes walk to a Sainsbury's local, ten minutes' walk to York Minster and to the railway station, with a plethora of restaurants and cafes nearby. The road is quiet and seems very safe and there is enough parking for three cars.
I would thoroughly recommend this to a friend and very much hope to return myself.
As described, this is a spacious, very well equipped, clean and comfortable family home. Enjoyed by family whose ages ranged from 12 to 81! Towels, biscuits and tea bags ready for us when we arrived was a nice welcome. Folding doors in kitchen and living room give access to lovely little sunny garden. Great location only 10 minutes level walk to the city walls - there really are views of the minster from several bedrooms! Very thoughtful owner - speedy and helpful communication before we visited and useful information in the house. Thank you!
We booked this house for a girlie weekend away. The house is so close to the centre of York we walked in a couple of times a day. The house is everything as advertised. There was only 6 of us but it was really well equipped and there was more than enough space for 12. There was also plenty of pots, pans, plates, glasses etc. It really feels like a home from home. The owner was really easy to deal with and the booking process was simple. If you want a large house in a quiet area but only a few mins from the city centre then you couldn't do any better than this property.
