So much to see in this museum. Great for families. Particularly like the old prison where you are in the actual cells where people like Dick Turpin were incarcerated. Gift shop and small cafe too.

A really good museum with lots to see. I would recommend for adults only to go when the kids are at school as there were a lot of really uninterested children running around. Not the museums fault more of a case of getting out of the rain for some. The exhibits are superb and the staff are extremely knowledgable. Would definitely pay another visit but at a quieter time.

This would be great for a rainy day as it is extensive with many varied exhibits. A bit of York's history, as well as history more generally. Some bits too much reading (for younger kids). Good value for money at £10 per adult and free for kids. The building is generally a bit run down, which you notice in some exhibits more than others. The old street with actors is great. Could do more about the history of the castle.

Interesting, nostalgic exhibits, especially the toys. Our grandchildren loved the schoolroom. Added attraction was the competition for children. A nice feature would have been a wee Easter great for all correct entries

I love the Castle Museum. I've been twice before, and visiting again yesterday I was not disappointed. There's so much to see and do.

My favourite bit is definitely the Victorian London street. I love that they've updated it since my last visit, opening up the shops and having people working in them.

I would definitely recommend it for an afternoon out.
