We popped in for a drink after a recommendation by a family member. It looks like a shop at first but the secret world is up the stairs at the back! Ended up ordering food because we were hungry, phenomenal! The beer and bacon burger with homemade pickled slaw was really amazing to taste and the lamb and mint sausage special was a very hearty portion. We were taken back with how good the food was despite very limited kitchen facilities. Would definitely return.

Got recommended to try this place n so glad we did-so much to chose from.Very small and obviously doesn’t have to be busy to be packed but a very usual drinking experience and although we didn’t try the food ourselves we were sat with a couple who were regulars who were eating and they said the food is always fabulous.Give this place a try when in York n try n go early to get a seat

Had lunch here - found a table straight away. Great service and the pie, mash and peas are amazing. Great beer, brilliant atmosphere and good location. Will visit again!

It's up there with being a funky relaxed place for a drink with Local ales and ciders on sale to suit all tastes.
Great decor, it is small and was really busy. Didn't try any food but what came out looked awesome.
Definitely a must place to visit.
