Excellent place to stay for a break in York, very close to the center only 8 minutes walk to the shambles, vue cinema york just a 10 minute drive away £4.95 a ticket to all films, adult and child. Lots of things to do and hundreds of restaurants.

Staff very helpful with small car park on site but disabled pays not enforced. Only 10 mins walk into the City so great location. The rooms are smaller than other Travelodge's with bedside shelf so small it only takes a cuppa. The chairs don't fit under the desk whilst the TV sits out from the wall so far it is a health and safety issue i.e. an accident waiting to happen. The en-suite is moulded plastic although there's plenty of hot water and a good pressure but the shower curtain means water gets onto the floor easily. No non-slip mats are available for the shower floor either. The cost of breakfast is very high when you consider the other options in the City just 10 mins walk away. I have stayed in other Tavelodges in York that have much better rooms so unlikely to return to this hotel.

First visit to York and it was amazing, from checking in, to the short walk to the city centre. The people of York are amongst the friendliest we have ever met, we will definitely be back and will stay again at the Travelodge.

We stayed for two nights with our two teenage sons in a family room, the room was very clean, with wall mounted TV, comfortable beds and adjustable heating/AC, though not much space for the luggage. The bathroom was spotless with a good shower and fresh towels each day. There is onsite parking which was free for the duration of your stay. first come first served basis. We liked the Costa next door. The location is very good, ten minutes walk to the Shambles or along the city walls to the Minster area.

A refreshingly crisp clean hotel with attentive staff. The bar and cafe are an added bonus plus an attached Costa coffee drive through cafe shop for those who need a fix. An easy gentle walk will get you into York centre in 10 minutes to enjoy the atmosphere of the sites and sounds and history the city has to offer.

Room tip: Whiles't the hotel sits by the river Fosse, its not tranquil. There are busy roads around the hotel which may disturb those light sleepers.
