The stay was arranged as short notice due to a family bereavement. The owner was considerate and responded promptly to messages about arrangements. There was a welcome pack and card when we arrived.
There are aspects of the property that are a bit dated and this is reflected in the price. The stay was good value for money. There is a wide screen TV and the wifi worked well. As it was a short stay we didn't use everything, for example we didn't cook much, but it seems well equipped. There appear to be new carpets throughout and the beds and sofa/chairs were very comfortable. Big windows make the inside very light.
There is plenty of room including storage (cupboards/wardrobes), a chair and tables in the kitchen, a large enclosed lawn back garden, and no problem parking. Within easy walking distance are a decent size supermarket, delicatessen that sells excellent sandwiches, fish and chip shop, and a pub providing good meals (Derwent Arms). It is a fairly long walk to York centre but there is a frequent bus service on the main road.
We had everything we needed and would be happy to stay there again.
