“Way better than normal.”

Bright, clean and comfortable.

Parking was a bit tricky but we managed to find a spot on the road above the cottage, We'd stay there again.

“Modern house and well located”
Reviewed 7 September 2016 for a stay in September 2016

Sat Mac not particularly helpful! On an incline (what isn't in Whitby?!).
Well appointed - kitchen good - limited cutlery for house with dishwasher.
Very comfortable sitting room - deep 3 piece.
Excellent wifi and TV channels.

“Lovely well kept property”
Reviewed 17 July 2016 for a stay in July 2016

We stayed here with my young daughter and our dog for a weekend break. The cottage is well kept, in a good location in town with good facilities. Parking a bit restricted and not much of a garden but otherwise good service and cottage. We'd stay here again.

“Good overall but some attention needed.”

Firstly, I'm surprised to see the average price listed here because I stayed here for three nights with my friend and had to pay £325, which is quite expensive, considering the lack of attention to detail.
The cottage itself is very nice inside - the upstairs being better than downstairs. The bedrooms are lovely and the bathroom has a nice shower and little vanity pack. The toilet is slightly stained. Overall, upstairs is really cosy and impressive with plenty of furniture.
The kitchen has all the amenities you need but things like kitchen roll and washing up liquid had not been replenished for our arrival. The drainer was also old and filthy and the sink stained.
The living room would benefit from having a curtain over the door as its a front door coming straight into the room.
What spoilt it for us was the fact that the windows of the cottage were filthy. The stairwells scruffy and not well kept, which makes the first impression a bad one as you approach the door. There were piles of cigarette butts and bits of dirt and rubbish leading up to the cottage.
Outside the back door has not been cleaned or kept well either and is not a suitable place to sit out. It's such a shame. If I owned a cottage in a prime location like that I would make sure I invested in the surroundings to create a welcoming effect - hire a jet washer! It's also pitch black at night when you're coming in so a security sensor light is needed. The owner also emailed that there would be no towels but there were plenty of fresh white towels provided.
As I said, good overall but certainly not worth £325 for two of us.

We are sorry to learn that you were not 100% happy with our cottage and we value your feedback. We have taken steps to rectify these oversights although many of the problems outside the house are caused by factors beyond our control (ie. nearby building renovations). The security light had unfortunately been turned off in error. We are sorry that you feel the price was too high - it is a cottage for 4 people and it was an expensive weekend, being in half term. The prices do vary over the year so there are certainly short breaks available at a lower cost. All our prices are on our website and all guests bookings through Trip Advisor are given a quote in advance. Thank you again for your feedback
