We have just returned from a fantastic 5 night stay at the Whitby Habour Apartment.
What a wonderful apartment with fantastic views and only a short walk into the centre of whitby. The apartment is immaculate and well equipped. A high chair and travel cot are provided which made the break hassle free with our 10 month old little girl. The lift access was also a bonus with the pushchair and the private parking was great and secure.
I searched for a while to find an apartment that was both child friendly and with a central location. This certainly did not disappoint and I would highly recommend to families. We will certainly be returning.
Whitby itself is a wonderful place. There are many things to do for all ages. Our favourite part of the holiday was whitby beach, a trip on the steam train and a beautiful walk in sandsend. We also loved watching the steam train coming in and out of the station.
The communication from booking to arrival was second to none and detailed information was emailed regarding access etc. I highly commend the owners of this holiday let for delivering a very personable communication and high standard of accommodation
A fantastic place to visit. 5 stars
Stayed in the whitby harbour appartment with my partner and little boy for 4 nights, what a lovely place, very clean, moderen and well looked after. The appartment had everything you would need! Very accomadating. We cooked in alot and there wasnt anything that i came across that i needed but wasnt there! Even toys and books for the little one, along with children cuttlery. Lovely view my little boy loved looking at the boats and birds and watching the steam train go by. Really nice grounds, good secure parking spot so your not driving around ages trying to find a parking space! Nice clean little park too on site. Lovely break away, we all really enjoyed ourselves and we will be defiantly be back and we would highly recommend. Thanks guys! Xx
My wife and I stayed in Holt Court, Whitby from September 2-9 2016. The second floor flat was superbly equipped, spotlessly clean and with beautiful views over the River Esk towards Whitby town. The North York Moors heritage railway runs into Whitby station directly opposite the flat so steam train fans can enjoy the sights and sounds of the NYMR engines entering and leaving Whitby regularly throughout the day. We found this a very evocative memory of our younger days!
The flat has everything you could want - fridge/freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, oven and hob, microwave oven, toaster and a fine selection of cutlery, crockery and cooking utensils. The welcoming bottle of wine was a nice touch and much appreciated. The beds were comfortable and we chose to use the twin-bedded room so that we could enjoy river views along with the sunrise in the mornings.
Whitby itself is a lovely seaside town - loads of great restaurants and a good selection of quirky shops - we'd particularly recommend W Hamond and Co for those wanting to buy a piece of Whitby jet jewellery.
Highlights of our stay included a visit to the Captain Cook museum where Marine Society re-enactors provided details of what it must have been like to sail aboard one of Cook's ships during his voyages of discovery and a visit to the ruins of Whitby Abbey which inspired Bram Stoker to write the gothic classic 'Dracula'. We also enjoyed a day trip on the NYMR from Whitby to Pickering via Grosmont and a voyage aboard the old Whitby lifeboat Mary Ann Hepworth which took us out of the harbour and around the bay.
We'd recommend Trenchers restaurant close to the railway station for fish and chips, Crumbs and Cobbles in East Whitby for snacky lunches and The Fisherman's Wife restaurant on Khyber Pass in West Whitby for a high class meal of lobster or fresh caught local sea bass for a parting dinner.
The only downside was the parking - both in Whitby itself and at the apartment. Parking is expensive in the town whilst the garage below the apartment is incredibly tight (especially if you are driving a 4x4 as we were) with totally inadequate room to manoeuvre in and out. We resorted to parking in one of the visitor spaces outside the apartment blocks but future visitors need to realise that these are on a 'first-come-first-served' basis.
Spent a week at the beginning of July. Plenty to see in Whitby and lots of walks. Took the opportunity to explore the surrounding area.
Apartment was spotless and in great condition. An ideal location to walk into Whitby. Would definitely come back.

We had a lovely stay at the Harbour Apartment. It was spacious and clean and just what we needed to explore Whitby with two little ones. The apartment is about 15 mins walk to the centre of Whitby in a quieter area which is perfect for families. There was a playground on site and you can see the harbour and old steam train from the apartment. We would highly recommend this accommodation for anyone travelling to Whitby.
