“excellent choice for Whitby”
Reviewed 13 November 2015 for a stay in September 2015

Very cosy and homely apartment jus the right size for the 3 of us, was a bus stop outside so we could catch a bus into the town and lots of local amenities only 10 mins away. would definatley recommend it and will stay there again.

“Great Town and Good Location”
Reviewed 30 September 2015 for a stay in September 2015

We stayed for two nights here. The house itself was fine for two adults (and perhaps a child or two) but def not for two couples! The 2nd bedroom has bunk beds! Dave, one of the owners, happened to arrive just as we did and was very helpful--he advised us as to the parking & gave us some good plces to eat and other info. The house was clean and reasonably well stocked. The lounge furniture and other furnishings are so-so for comfort. It has internet but it was nonfunctioning during our visit. Whitby is a beautiful town with friendly people--we walked all over--visited the Abbey and church plus the Whiteby museum--which is a treasure! Do be prepared for the walk to/from town-- its somewhat strenuous with the big hill! We enjoyed the walking but not everyone would. Fishermans Wife and Humble Pie are 2 great places to eat!

“It was OK”
Reviewed 29 August 2015 for a stay in August 2015

Not big enough for 4 people. Bunk beds - no photo shown, are in what amounts to a corridor, very cramped, no ventilation in stuffy summer nights.
Not a comfortable stay for 4 people, but bedding and towels clean.

Does not say it is on a main road by traffic lights. Noisy, hard to park.

Parking spaces are slim. Our car door was dented by another car staying there.

Not enough crockery for a dishwasher - only 4 of everything.

Suite and carpet grubby.

Management Response
21 Sep 2015
Oh dear! We are sorry you felt is wasn't big enough for you. The room dimensions are quite big except the bunk room (which is quite clearly stated in the description of the apartment) but it certainly isn't a 'corridor'. However, I take your point about there not being a photograph and will update our photos of the apartment as soon as possible. We do actually say in the description also that we are close to the traffic lights but we have good secondary glazing to the front of the property which acts as a very good sound barrier usually. It's a shame you didn't open the windows to allow some air in if you felt you needed ventilation as all the windows do open. As for parking, we are lucky to have free parking at our apartments and although it is tight we have not had a problem with other guests damaging others cars. I wish you had informed us of this at the time so we could approach the other guest and hopefully get you recompensed for any damage caused. We are well placed in Whitby within a short walk to the centre but just far enough away from the noise.

“Lovely place to stay”
Reviewed 10 August 2015 for a stay in August 2015

This is a very nice apartment in a great location for your visit to Whitby. Well furnished, tastefully decorated and comfortable, it is fairly compact but certainly not cramped.

My wife and I and our Labrador Monty enjoyed a very nice four-night stay - we felt the location was superb - a fairly easy stroll into Whitby (not far, although fairly steep coming back!) as well as easy access to a supermarket and for trips out of town to Robin Hood's Bay, Scarborough, Pickering or York.

It is terrific that the apartment allows you to stay with a dog; it is a key factor for us when booking accommodation for a break in the UK. One thing we would suggest would be a DVD player; there is a decent range of TV channels available but it would be nice to be able to sit down and watch a movie of our choosing.

Don't forget to try Whitby fish and chips during your stay! The best restaurants are recommended in the very useful local information provided by Carol and David.

Thanks for a lovely stay, we may well see you again in future.

This was a nice apartment home from home with all you needed .One thing I think it definitely needed was a DVD player .My grandchildren aged 12 and 10 were very pleased to have WiFi but would have liked to watch a film on a DVD at night .Would definitely stay again .
