We stayed at prospect villa for 2 nights and was pleasantly surprised.
The accommodation was very clean, comfortable and well equipped.
It's in a perfect location, only a 10 minute walk into town.
I would definately recommend it and hope to return ourselves again in the future.
We have just had a 4 night stay in Caedmons Retreat at Prospect Villa Holiday Apartments, easy booking process, easy check in on arrival, and very clear directions. We have had a lovely few days taking my elderly parents with us, apartment was on the 2nd floor, but the stairs were not too much of a problem to either of my parents neither of them having great mobility.......the apartment itself is bright and airy, well furnished and equipped, a real home from home. We also took our dogs with us, which was great and had no idea Whitby was so dog friendly. Beds were all very comfortable with crisp clean bed linen and a good supply of towels......despite taking my own, there was also basic dish washing cloths and liquids........we will definitely be returning, but perhaps a ground floor apartment for the parents next time!!!!! Highly recommended.

We stayed in the top floor apartment, which has undergone major refurbishment and has been done to an excellent standard.it is fully equipped with everything you could possibly want, from a dishwasher to a torch, the furnishings were mostly new and very comfortable, parking not a problem.Great recommendation from Derek the proprietor for the Railway Chippy just round the corner also the First and Last Pub opposite the chippy.
Would thoroughly recommend Prospect Villa as a great base to stay in Whitby,we actually were shown the huge ground floor apartment which was done to the same standard as the apartment we were in so from that I would say any of the four apartments are worthy of a visit,we will be back.
Our second stay in Whitby this year-this time travelling with family for a wedding, compĺete with small baby. Booked the very large ground floor apartment so my parents could stay with us(and do babysitting!). Apartment was perfect for us- main bedrooms were very clean, light and airy- our downstairs room was perhaps the largest we've ever been in and very easily fitted in the travel cot and other baby paraphenalia, and well furnished with everything we needed. The smaller bunk room was ideal for our 12yr old who liked a choice of beds and also loved having wi-fi. My parents appreciated their en-suite room being on the same floor as the lovely lounge with its huge windows. All the areas had a nice fresh look about them and I suspect the building has recently been renovated. I liked the kitchen diner which led out to a little courtyard where we had cups of tea in the morning sunshine and had room for us all to sit to have breakfast together and cook up a feast(if we hadnt stuffed our faces with fish and chips the night before). There was more than enough room for bottles and the steriliser and enough sockets so we could still boil the kettle.
We were really impressed by all the rooms and thought that they felt welcoming despite being a lot larger than the b+bs we usually visit.
The apartments are at the top of the hill into town but this was only a 5 min walk and there are lots of taxis happy to take you up if youre worse for wear or wearing stupid shoes like I was- we had a great child -free friday night in town but the cobbles arent a good idea in heels!
Overall we had a great time and would definitely consider booking here again, being able to park onsite was a big bonus and the price was excellent considering how much we pay for a much smaller space normally.
