“Cosy, friendly but smaller than pictures suggest”

The owners are lovely and friendly and we could not fault them at all. The whole site was very nice, but the accommodation was smaller than the pictures suggested. I traveled with my elderly parents and my child and we could just seat all four of us in the living area, 4 adults would not have been comfortable!. The picture of the kitchen area is also misleading as the table and chairs are so close to the cooker , you had to move them to use it. Once moved away from the cooker it blocked the walk way from the kitchen to the living area. Bedrooms were adequate, although again if 4 adults - say 2 couples were staying- there is only one wardrobe in the double bedroom so would have to share storage space. The games room is not part of the accommodation, which is not stated in the right up - only states SHARED garden- it is totally separate room for all cottages to share, in the middle of the court yard and again is very small. The picture of The Old Stable also includes another cottage -it is 2 in one block , which again misleads you to thinking the place is bigger. The accommodation was cosy and adequate for a short stay, although it was a bit tired and dated.
There was also no mention of the waste water site right next to it , which wasn't a pleasant smell to live next to.

Peaceful rural location.
Accomodation equiped with everyting you need.plenty of space
Dog friendly freedom to walk in fields .perfect for dogs.
Children friendly. Lovely play area where kids can be free safe and have fun.
No need to bring food sainsbury down the road .
Owners : live on site, leave you alone, but can ring bell at their home for emergency.
Niggling bits:
would have been nice to meet owners on arrival day and made welcome.
Bedding poor quality
Some cleaning issues with smelly bin, and tv required polishing.
Reported some light bulbs not working and a knob off the cooker broken, but no response to replace whilst they.
Having saying about the niggling bits did not affect our holiday , had a fantastic time when can we move in! Differently coming back love it thanks owners for giving us townie s the experince of rural peacfull place xx
Would have given a four star rating if the niggling bits were met

Fab cottage, based in a really good location. Two minutes drive from the centre of Whitby on the scarborough road. Sainsburys opposite and a nice pub within walking distance which does good food. Cottage itself was perfect if not a little dated. There us lots of outdoor space and a brilliant little park for the kids. Only downside is that's it is next too a sewerage works. You can only smell it when you are outside and to be honest it didn't spoil anything.

“Neat and Tidy but tough on the nose”

We found the Old Stable to be the perfect 2 night stay on our travels around the UK. The bedrooms were neat and tidy and the beds were comfortable. 1 room had twin beds with little room to put suitcases but we did fit. The setting was in a lovely area but we were unable to leave any windows or doors open as the sewage works were right next door with unfortunately an overpowering smell. The location suited us as it wasn't far to drive to neighbouring towns or into the centre of Whitby. There also was a few pubs handy close by for meals.
