“Excellent again!”
Reviewed 27 September 2014 for a stay in September 2014

We visited here again after last coming for just a night last year. I'm really glad that I decided to choose Tumble Cottage again. It is in the heart of Whitby so it was nice to be able to do things like a spontaneous ramble down the beach at night or popping back for a respite from the wind before setting out again!

The cottage has everything you could want/need, including pots and pans etc. We had no issues with noise and had a very good night's sleep, my partner enjoyed the shower as much as last time!

The only thing that had changed is that it is now double yellow lines EVERYWHERE so we had to pay for parking. I wasn't aware of this as I hadn't asked and had just assumed we would be able to park down the same side street as before. There is a carpark round the back of the church opposite but it is £9 for 48hours so whilst it's close enough for lugging suitcases there might be somewhere else cheaper nearby. This wasn't a problem for us though as it meant I was less worried about going out of Whitby in the car and still being able to park when we got back.

“Fabulous cottage in perfect location”

We chose Tumble Cottage after reading the very positive reviews on Trip Advisor and I am very glad we did. The owner was very accommodating over our arrival and departure times. For us the house was in the perfect location, everything on our doorstep and closer to the beach than I expected. The cottage is so well equipped and we didn't have to go out and buy things like tea, coffee, kitchen roll, washing up liquid. The owner had even provided fresh milk, wine and we couldn't resist the sweetie bowl.
We would definitely book again when next visiting Whitby.

“Excellent property, well located, well designed, just great”
Reviewed 15 July 2014 for a stay in July 2014

Tumble Cottage is a new property situated immediately next door to the Granby Pub, which is nice if you like that sort of thing. No noise came from the pub on a busy holiday weekend. The property is tastefully decorated and has everything you need for a short stay. There were four in our party and yes, it is a bit cramped, but a lot of care has been taken to provide ecellent facilities. Would recommend the cottage to anyone who wants a centrally located good value for money accommodation. Bottle of red left for us also helps...

“Compact but has everything”
Reviewed 21 February 2014 for a stay in February 2014

My wife and I stayed with 2 friends for a long weekend. We were warmly welcomed by Ivy with a bottle of wine. Great location, and the cottage has everything. A lot larger accommodation would have had a lot less. Couldn't fault anything. A great base for a super weekend in Whitby. We were allowed to stay as long as we wanted on the final day so no pressure to leave like a guesthouse. Would recommend Tumble Cottage for anyone.

“Small but very practical”

Tumble cottage is small but very practical, everything has been thought about, 4 adults stayed for 3 nights, Ideal for 2 persons or a small family, for 4 adults you must all get on, there's no hiding place. unless its in the pub next door, which we never heard at all
We had a great 3 nights at Tumble cottage, it has got all mod con's, and is very tastfully finished. The owner Ivy was great very welcoming and could not do enough for us.
We will be back
