“Great location”
Reviewed 17 August 2015 for a stay in May 2015

Stayed here twice, once in September 2014 and again in May 2015.
The holiday rental is on a complex with others and is in a great location, just next to to the Cinder Path which runs from Scarborough into Whitby. This is accessed from the viaduct that you can see from the photos, and to walk into Whitby takes about 15-20 minutes - a great way to avoid trying to find a parking space in the town.
Whitby is a lovely little town with great fish and chips as well as some quirky other choices, try the american diner!
The property is great, clean with all the things you need for a stay, and the added bonus of great views to front and rear.
A great base for the local area.

“Kids..? Perfect”

Stayed 4 nights at this lovely property. Everything you need DVDs for kids and games. However the views from this property are stunning. After dinner is always what will we do with the kids that doesn't cost money! At the bottom of the cottage a short walk is the river esk we bought the kids 10 -and 6 crabbing lines they cost a quid tie some bacon as bait and go crabbing! We had tremendous fun needless to say we let them go but mum dad gran and pappa all joined in. It was honestly the kids and adults best thing to do. Whitby is a good 20/25 min walk and 5.50 for a taxi back. If you want things on the doorstep this place isn't for you. That said the peace and quiet and the views for us was beautiful. You can take your car and park at the long stay back of the co-op it's 6 pounds for all day free after 6p.m.if it's your first trip be aware Whitby Scarborough parking charges are literally everywhere. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this cottage it's just idyllic and you won't be sorry. Alison and tony could not be ore helpful.

“Lovely house in a great location”
Reviewed 4 June 2015 for a stay in May 2015

Just back from a long weekend at Anstis Cottage and we have had a great time at this very comfortable,well-appointed house. One of a small group of modern homes in a quiet location, there is easy access to central Whitby...5 minutes drive or 20 minutes gentle walk along the Cinder Track which passes close by
At the rear of the house there are neat lawns where children can play safely ,a picnic table for relaxing lunches and extensive views up the Esk valley.....add the occasional visit from friendly ducks and great views of the steam trains......lovely.
Allison provides excellent service for guests, and we will certainly be back. Highly recommended

“Lovely homely clean modern cottage”
Reviewed 6 February 2015 for a stay in December 2014

My partner and I stayed here over the Christmas period and it was the best one ever! The cottage was quiet, in a good location if you enjoy walking and don't want to be in the centre of Whitby. There is a lovely walk into Whitby which takes 10-25 mins depending on how fast you walk.
It was very quiet (because it was xmas), there were only about four other families in the whole complex next to the bridge, which was good for us!
The rooms are large and the living room is open plan with a kitchen, all brand new. There was a xmas tree for us and it was all very nice there. No issues at all. Beautiful view of the viaduct bridge.
The landlady was very helpful and polite. The price was excellent.
Will be staying there again when we can!
