Excellent! What a clever refurbishment and redecoration with some subtle restructuring. Everything has been touched and redecorated, with a few changes, but here's the clever bit, nothing has changed! The atmosphere is undisturbed. The ambience that everyone loved is superb, but whilst everything has changed, nothing has changed.
What were always perfectly clean and acceptable toilets, have now become suitable for Mayfair! And best of all, the beer is still perfect.
Well done, Colin!

A proper pub with staff who actually care about what they do and always provide service with a smile!
The best selection of booze you could ever ask for.
Also…a great pork pie!

Proper backstreet local pub with an amazing array of ales and cider, 12 ale pumps at visit, 20 on gravity behind and 19 real ciders available, kept well, competitive pricing, well worth the 15 mins walk from the city centre.

What a brilliant pub! A must if your in the area and love your real ale. A vast array of different beers, bottles, ciders etc. The ales are on cask and on gravity.
Lovely old features, beautiful pork pies, cobs and bar snacks. There are beer menus to tell you what they have on.
Fantastic place, really impressed and one of the best pubs I’ve ever been to if you want a simple old fashioned pub.

This is a pub - a proper pub as pubs were, and as they are meant to be! It is all about the beer and I cannot fault it. Even if you stuck to half-pints, you could not sample all the ales in the Fat Cat. All perfectly kept in about 5 or 6 cellars.
Don't go here for a meal, it is a pub. Yes, at lunchtimes there are trays of freshly made cheese, ham and other filled rolls, all just £1 each and pork pies. But you come here to enjoy the great ambience created by 1940s/50s decor and the amazing range of beers. And when you have the inevitable call of nature, the loos are immaculate.
Highly recommended.
