Love coming to this hotel as Thorpe St Andrew is such a pretty place and only a short taxi ride into Norwich city centre. The only criticisms I have for my recent stay is that the lodges are now rather shabby and the choice of wine wasn't great. I know these are hard times for the hospitality industry so don't want to be too hard. I'll definitely be back!

Excellent venue with indoor and outdoor seating -up among the tree tops.
Good food, reasonable price, friendly and efficient staff, especially Sharron.
Also has a farm shop with lovely bread and cheeses. A classy place.
Despite all the challenges of Covid, the staff have remained resolute in ensuring the Oakland’s is a true gem to visit and stay. We have stayed in the past but the investment made recently has transformed the place. In the summer the terrace was like being transported to the Mediterranean. Here we are again on a damp October evening, in the fresh air on the terrace, basking in the warmth of the overhead heating, enjoying a fabulous delicacy from the restaurant. We honestly agreed, these were the best steaks we’ve ever tasted. No mean feat considering the steaks I’ve enjoyed around the globe in my time.
The Oakland’s has a truly unique vibe. An ‘X’ factor perhaps that we’ve never experienced elsewhere. We will be visiting again very soon and recommend you do too!

booked the oaklands for an bank Holiday weekend break . We stayed in a superior suite which was clean and spacious with a balcony. The food was excellent especially the breakfast. Staff are very helpful and friendly and do a fantastic job despite the restrictions due to distancing to make you feel welcome. Had a great time.
We stayed on Saturday night and was so impressed with everything. Firstly the staff were amazing - special mention to Malcolm who was so attentive to us day and night but also didn’t stop - massive attention to detail. The food was all locally sourced and fabulous - all cooked to perfection. We went for an overnight stay and had breakfast also the next day which was also fantastic and good value. Would also recommend the expresso martinis !! Anyway we will be back - well done team Oakland’s !
