Description: The Clink Restaurant at HMP Brixton opened in February 2014 as the third restaurant operated by The Clink Charity in the UK and offers up to 30 prisoners full-time work within the restaurant and kitchen. Prisoners train towards gaining nationally recognised City & Guilds NVQs before returning to their cells at the end of the working day. Upon their release, The Clink Charity helps graduates find employment within the catering and hospitality industry. The restaurant is a flagship example of a unique charitable project that is committed to reducing reoffending rates, in partnership with HMPS. The restaurant positively promotes the rehabilitation and reintegration of prisoners and also champions the wealth of quality, fresh and organic produce available throughout the UK with many vegetables and herbs being sourced from the prison gardens. The restaurant is located in the former Governor's house built in 1819, the 120-cover restaurant is available for exclusive hire. Breakfast is served from Monday to Friday between 8:15am and 10:30am, and lunch is served from Monday to Friday between 12pm and 3pm. This must be booked at least 24 hours in advance. Available for exclusive hire, The Clink Restaurant boasts 5 private dining rooms that offers projector and AV facilities making it perfect for meetings, conferences and presentations.

I visited The Clink for Sunday lunch with my partner and we had the most amazing time!

The experience is obviously very interesting and different but shouldn't be taken as a gimmick, the guys he are doing such great work rebuilding their lives and a visit should be to support the ongoing programme to help the people in here.

We live round the corner so once finding out about the restaurant we booked right away!

The three course lunch was delicious and really well priced, the food is much better than a lot of the restaurants I have been to in London and the service was also brilliant - our waiter Charlie was fab, friendly and very helpful with the menu!

A wonderful meal and dining experience at the Clink!

... to the Clink staff for an excellent lunch. We visited last Monday and found everything to be run very efficiently, and the food was excellent. We had the rabbit and duck terrine to start, which was delicious (although a piece of bread on the side would have been good). Our main was the chicken, which was lovely and succulent, and the kiev ball (sounds weird but it's amazing) was crispy and delicious! The buttery potatoes were also lovely. For dessert, one of us had the chocolate fondant and brownie with damson ice cream - highly recommended! The other had the poached pear, which was also wonderful. The waiters were excellent. They were attentive and professional, without being intrusive, and we were very impressed by the service, and look forward to visiting again next year for the summer menu!

We went for Sunday lunch. The food was excellent as was the service and very good value at £30. The restaurant has current prisoners who are undertaking recognised training in hospitality; preparing and serving the food. Placements are then found for them once their sentence has finished. Brilliant!

From arrival you know this is going to be different. Going through the door into the Victorian era prison you emerge into a restaurant that is modern and stylish with art created by inmates on the walls. We had a three course lunch that was beautifuly and professionally served. I had a Gorgonzolaery creation to start, followed by slow cooked lamb and finished with chocolate trio that was probably the best I have ever had. There are about five choices for each course.
