I visited on a Sunday afternoon with a friend for lunch. It has a short menu but still manages a wide selection of food, and we both opted for the beef and potato pie - which was delicious!
The pub itself is charming - oddly proportioned with nooks and crannies. A great location which no doubt is what attracts such an interesting group of drinkers / diners - definitely a good atmosphere.

We quietly celebrated by man's birthday here on Sunday - quite by accident really we'd found it a while ago and thought it would be nice to try. We weren't sure if it would be open on Sunday - but it was doing food all day. Not a Sunday lunch menu, but a really unusual short menu which was hard to resist. The food was delicious and we were both full up for the rest of the day! The beer was great as was the house wine, and the folk were welcoming and of course it is a fascinating place with lots of history and the feel of a genuine local so missing in many Central London pubs.
We loved it - and will return whenever we can

We happened on this place by accident but how fortunate was this, Roxie is a great (and welcoming) character. The beer was well kept and well served, likewise the food.
The toilets, well they were an experience, like plunging off a diving board to get back to the bar but all part of the experience.
Would change nothing about this place, highly recommended but not if you are part of a large party it simply is too small.

Came here with friends for dinner. The food was great although we were a bit hungry after and had to get some extra food on the way home. The bar girl was fairly aloof with us. My drink came in a bottle with a dirty glass on the side. Asked for a clean glass and got another dirty one in an annoyed manner. So disgusting, see the attached pic. Cod and chips were tasty for £14. They place is really old, which is the best part of it. They could all probably do with a bit of hospitality training and a new dishwasher.

Found this pub escaping the hustle and bustle of Covent Garden. Just popped in for a drink to be greeted by friendly, helpful staff. If you are bored with chain pubs offering overpriced drinks and boring standard menus then this is a delight. We must return to try something from their amazing quirky menu. Amazing pub serving delightful fayre from a mouth watering selection with fine ales. If you are up for a change from your Greene King and Nicholson's and looking for a bit more out of the ordinary then The Seven Stars
is for you . You'll be better off for the experience.
