We were in need of a warm drink after walking across the Millennium bridge. We stopped off at the Salvation Army café before heading into St Paul’s Cathedral.
Down a short staircase is an airy and welcoming café.
We found some comfortable chairs and warmed up with a lovely mug of tea.
The menu looked good but we were still full from lunch.
Definitely a place we will visit again.

Great food. From pretentious Tate modern to wholesome Salvation Army cafe. Good value. Went with family.

This basement (with lots of light) cafe is on the North Bank of the Thames very close to the "wobbly bridge". The hot and cold food all looks really attractive. My traditional fish and chips was the bargain of the year.

Located in the Salvation Army building basement, I'd think that explains the low prices / tremendous value that others have commented on...and the resulting occasional queue.
Having strolled across the Millennium Bridge, we chanced on café 101 and popped for a late, light lunch. (Hence plenty of tables free.) Superb.
A superb deli filled roll, muffin and tea for £7.30.
Spacious, bright, modern, with a choice of three styles of seating including comfy sofas. Lovely friendly staff. Access from street level via stairs or glass lift. Clean.

This was a brilliant cafe to meet for lunch! The staff were all lovely and friendly, the cafe itself was nice and bright and, most importantly, the food was delicious! There were many options to choose from, I settled for a large salad plate which had some great flavours and textures whilst my parents both enjoyed the risotto. My vegan sister also had many options to choose from. This is a wonderful cafe and I would recommend it above any cafe chain thanks to the great prices, great staff and great food.
