I originally scoped out this tea room in March, trying to find a suitable place to take my girlfriend out to.

GOOD: A charming, traditional tea rooms situated on the south side of Covent Garden. They serve all the tasty treats you’d expect including scones, finger sandwiches, cakes and their signature colourful macaroons. On my first visit, I was the only bloke at this venue and it appears our friends from across the pond love it here!! A delightful amount of eclectic crockery including tea pots make this a fun experience.

BAD: Simply that there’s not enough seating so it may be worth making a reservation.

Price: ££-£££ budget for around £8-12 per person unless you’re going for a large tea and/or champagne. Enjoy!!

Came here with my partner on a busy Saturday after booking in for afternoon tea. We were given two tea menus, but no afternoon tea menu and were not told about any other hot drink options that were available. We were not asked if we would like any bubbly - probably a missed opportunity for an upsell, as I would've said yes if this had been offered. I had called ahead to pre-book dietary requirements, but the waiter had not checked this, so had to run through it again.

The service was quick and the food itself was lovely, though with very small portions compared to other afternoon teas I've had in London in similarly priced establishments. They bring the scones at the end, but we only got one 'half size'/mini scone each, which felt a bit stingy, especially when there are clearly larger standard size scones available. Usually I'd be prepared to stagger out of an afternoon tea full to the brim, but this wasn't the case here.

All in all, the food was nice enough, the staff are pleasant, it just felt like other places go slightly further to make you feel more special, and have better systems in place to make sure you know how everything works and what you're getting (like ensuring you are provided with at least a full drinks menu, that they know your dietary requirements, etc.).

If you are looking for a non chain coffee/tea and cake pit stop, this is for you. Great service and sourroundings. Highly recommend the cheese and ham toast with a fried egg (Croque Madame). Cakes looked amazing but didn’t have any.......

Cakes are really nice, tea is good too. Scones are just average and they are huge! Service is very good and all the staff are lovely. The place needs a desperate renovation it's a bit dirty and worn down. The toilets are absolutely filthy and vile which is shocking because you don't expect that from how the rest of the place is, they are truly disgusting and off-putting the cubicle is tiny, ruins the experience.

The cafe is ok but the quality of the tea and cake is not worth what they charge.
They over complicate everything and it’s difficult to get simply good drinks and cake.
The fruit scones came straight out of the microwave and the cakes look ok amazing and are fine if you like lots of different flavours combined.
