I stayed at this hostel based on a recommendation from a friend. And after having stayed there for 1 nights, I am pretty sure that friend was drunk the whole time. but we did have fun out clubbing and drinking in dorm to expensive to travel back home on they day we get hammer. The hostel was more like a prison; small rooms, old beds, peeling paint, noisy etc. All of this is ok and not unexpected, but I genuinely felt unsafe. A couple of people on my floor had things stolen and there were a lot of unsavoury types loitering in the front entry way.

On the upside, it is in a great location and close to all the major sights and transit.

Room Tip: they are good but worst then over places and this is in heart of london

We were four people who stayed in a 4-bed room. In the first room we got the window wouldn't open, but they quickly assigned us to a new room. Staff overall very friendly, helped us figure out which bus lines to take to get to our hard to find destinations in the outskirts of London.

The interiors are clean enough, though they look a bit run down. Overall there is an eastern bloc-feel to the place, the showers and other amenities are fully satisfactory and so are the rooms, but of course it is evident why they can charge such low prices despite the central location.

And what a location it is! Right smack dab in the middle of London, a stones throw from the famous advertising signs on Piccadilly Circus.

Definitely recommend this to anyone who isn't afraid to stay in a hostel. And if you're thinking of doing some shopping, you'll have a lot more to spend if you go budget on your accommodation.

It sounds almost too good to be true - a bed for twelve nights 50 metres from Piccadilly Circus and right in the heart of Soho. However it is true, provided you don't mind being in a dorm of 20 people tightly crammed into 10 bunk beds. However there are a wide range of accommodation options, albeit at higher prices, and in summer the prices are all a little higher. I have stayed in some of the best hotels in the world, but quite frankly I can live with 19 other people in the same room for 12 pounds a night, although the four bed dorms are only 18 pounds. None of the rooms are ensuite and there are some female only dorms. The place is busy, but people are generally friendly if you engage with them and the staff are helpful. The place is also open 24 hours a day and the linen is clean. Breakfast is extra, and the place is a little tired with a lot of stairs to climb if the one lift is not working or is busy. You should also bring a padlock so you can lock your stuff away.

Room Tip: Some rooms overlook the streets, but generally are not too noisy. Get a room on a lower floor to avo...

Good place if you are on a tight budget, the staff are friendly at check in, right up until you hand over your money. The security staff on the other hand are exceptionally rude and for that reason alone, I wouldn't recommend this place or stay there again.

I just stayed at Piccadilly Backpackers for the 2nd time, and the overall impression is not exceptional but it isn`t so bad either. It is in te middle. Staff is definitely the bright side of the location, because they really try to help and are quite friendly. But there are too many rooms and beds, and the cleaning staff just can`t keep up. My 7th floors experience was not positive, the male bathrooms were all out-of-order, the male showers were flooded, no place to hook the towel in the shower area, and the overall cleanliness was to be desired. The central location is the main positive factor here, in addition to the low price for the night, but they could probably do a bit more to keep the place neat by sending staff to sweep common areas and bathrooms couple of times during the day...
