“Beautiful hotel - loved it”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 April 2012

I have stayed in many hotels in London and am usually disappointed. I have also stayed in a few Hilton Hotels. This one is fantastic. So convenient for Paddington (you can access the hotel through the station). My room was big, tasteful, clean and lovely. The bathroom was also large. I really enjoyed my night there. The staff are nice and I think it's pretty good value for London. For those who don't know London, Paddington is near everything. You really can't go wrong. I've been spoilt now - I will stay there again. Thank you.

Visiting London? This is a great place to stay and explore the city. The Hilton sits atop of and in front of the Paddington train station which is the terminus for the Heathrow Express; it is also where all the trains heading to southwest England originate from ( Great Western line). The Hotel and station are tube stops for 4 London underground lines: Bakerloo; Hammersmith & City; District; and Cirlce lines. You literally can walk off the Heathrow Express, cross the station platform, take the escalator up one flight of stairs and you are in the lobby of the Hotel. ( great after a long international flight !) The tube station is one story below the train station and you are within minutes of all the famous places to visit in London. If you are going to the business district, you are a 15 minute underground ride away; 10 minutes to the West End and the theaters and 10 minutes from Oxford Street and shopping. The neighborhood surrounding the hotel is nice and the local restaurants are quite good. The hotel rooms are clean, well appointed and spacious. The hotel staff is very courteous and very helpful in answering any questions you may have. Whether you are on a quick business trip to or bringing the family to London, it is a safe bet to stay here

Room Tip: The street on the west side of the hotel is under repair so there is no road noise.

Stayed all last week for a business training course nearby. On check in, found reception very helpful, polite and efficient. The housekeeping staff always had a cheery "good morning/evening", etc. and the doormen similarly. Breakfast was tasty and plentiful. Only negative for me was the "steam" bar with overpriced and very poor quality Guiness. It was changed for lager, but it was obvious to look at that it was wrong and should not have been served. By knocking off the aircon you can get a better nights sleep, but the units must have been above my 6th floor room, so always a tad noisy. But the beds were very comfy and good bar/shower/tv, etc.

Dear Ivan T

Thank you for staying with us whilst on your course recently and also for taking the time to comment on TripAdvisor. I am pleased that you enjoyed your stay and hank you for your comments about both the Front Office and Housekeeping teams which I will certainly pass on. I am sorry to hear about the Guiness in the Steam Bar and will check this now. The A/C units are located as you mention and I will see what might be done about this but I think that this is perhaps more of a structural issue rather than a preventative maintenance one. I do hope that we will be able to welcome you back soon whether it be for another training course or a more relaxing weekend.

with kind regards

We stayed only one night at this hotel, but we were so very happy with our choice! I cannot stress how wonderful it was to be in our hotel room within 30 minutes of leaving Heathrow airport. My two teenagers and I stayed in a Queen suite. We had a small hallway, a generously sized bedroom and a small sitting room. The fold out love seat (only one person fits in this bed) took up most of the sitting room. The bathroom was nice and big too. The room was expensive but it did include breakfast.

We arrived late but check in was fast. We were too late for a restaurant sit down meal so we bought take out from the vendors in Paddington station and strawberries and chocolate from the grocery store downstairs and ate in our room. My kids were overjoyed with this quick meal.

Portobello Road was only a few stops away on the underground. We walked the length of the market on Saturday morning and bought a few fun things and then were back at the hotel very quickly. I think the ride from Ladbroke station only took 15 minutes to get back to the hotel. We meant to arrive in London much earlier in the day but airline delays ruined our planned activities for Friday night. We will definitely stay at this hotel again - hopefully with much more time.

Room Tip: The executive lounge has free computers, but I could not get the free wifi in the lounge to work on...

Lovely hotel, very central and accessible. Friendly and helpful staff. Only fault is that it is old and in need of a revamp but other than that it cant be faulted. I especially found the concierge really wonderful and always checking to see if you were ok...
