Owner description: There can be no other theatre in the world which has two such distinct and diverse claims to fame as the Aldwych.During the period from 1925 until 1933 the theatre housed a series of farces by Ben Travers which have gone down in history as 'The Aldwych Farces'. They included such familiar titles as A Cuckoo in the Nest, Rookery Nook, Thark, Plunder and A Cup of Kindness. Nearly 30 years later, on 15 December 1960, the Royal Shakespeare Company took over the Aldwych as its London base.During the next 21 years, prior to the company moving to its theatre in the Barbican, history was frequently made. The Aldwych is currently the residence for the Olivier & Tony award winning Beautiful - The Carole King Musical

The threatre itself has recently had a makeover and it looks great. Its a real tradditional threatre that has a great feel to it. And they know how to serve interval drinks with the ice in a separate glass..a great little touch.
The Tina musical is superb. Yes it does have a minimal set but the actors and band are simply superb. From the couple of songs you might not know to the concert like finish the musical is very well put together. We had seats in row c in the dress circle and they had more room than your normal threatre seats....a great night out

What a show, great story about Ike and Tina. The songs are sang brilliantly and you can tell Tina has influenced the show content and production. It’s got a real vibe and you feel part of the show, wait for the point when Tina’s spikey hair is worn for the first time, the show just explodes. If you like a sing, clap, dance and cheer then get you seat booked now, this one will win awards.

Went to see the show on Good Friday; show was fantastic, the whole cast great and the lead actress as Tina fantastic, very
Realistic; having seen her for real three times we should know .
A great sound , as is now common place a minimal set .
Not totally convinced with theatre, seats on row E on grand circle
Provide good views but tiny seats have negligible leg room and these seats don’t fold back so when people passed by it was tedious, in fact on two occasions the whole row emptied
to let people in and when most people stood for the finale I didn’t because it felt to precarious.
Great Great show but choose your seats with care !
