“Good value”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 April 2012

We spent 5 nights at the UMI Hotel London over New Year's 2011/2012. The hotel is a bit run-down, meaning it could do with some renovation. But considering we got a good deal (210 Euros or 5 nights) it's ok. The hotel is very clean and the staff very helpful! The rooms were fairly quiet for a London Hotel, eventhough there were a lot of young people in the hotel. The rooms are quite small, but I've been in London hotels with equally small rooms that were much more expensive!
The double bed could have been a bit bigger.
The location is very good, easy access to all of London's sights and shopping locations. If you want a few nice days in London and will be spending most of your time around the city, only coming back to the Hotel to sleep it's the perfect hotel.

This hotel should be knocked down. I don't building code it follows as the floor was angled with huge humps in it. I felt I could have died in a collapsed building. Did not feel safe sleeping there at all. Only plus was friendly staff.

When planning a two week trip to Europe we were looking for a nice place at a good price and this fit the bill. Situated in the Notting Hill - Bayswater area of London the Umi was a nice little hotel for exploring the city. The staff is very helpful and friendly and the rooms, while not 5 star by any means, were clean and comfortable. They were small but such is the case all over Europe. While not overly close to all of the tourist sites there is easy access to a Tube station, and Hyde Park is within walking distance. One of the best parts of the hotel was the breakfast in the morning. The food wasn't gourmet but it was a nice way to start the day. I would definitely stay here again and my travel companion is doing just that this spring.

Decent budget hotel. Very good service... friendly and helpful. Decent free breakfast (although not buffet so not as filling as others). Full English available though for modest charge. Bed was comfortable. Rooms clean. Carpets in rooms a bit worn and in need of repair but overall room was pleasant. Located on quiet square a couple blocks off street with tons of ethnic eateries. 10 minute walk to two tube stops and Kennsington Park. Stayed here for 7 nights.

I choose this hotel becasue it was cheap but in a nice area. The hotel was a little hard to find even with a taxi driver. I was warmly welcomed by the staff. My room as smallish and the bathroom was small as a cuboard but was decently clean. The furniture was a bit old looking and the window was hard to close and 1 of the staff had to come and give me a hand with it. The breakfast price was a bit pricey, I decided to get breakfast elsewhere for less.

The staff are nice and have some good knowledge but most of them are forginers and most live in the hotel as well. No free wifi and have to buy a card to get access to the computer and wifi.

floorboard were creaky so you could hear people walking around.

Room Tip: Be warned that this is a hotel popular with school groups and tours. Had a bunch of American school...
