The price we paid for one night, room only at this hotel was on the high side. I had been on a long business trip with my daughter in North America and this was a short shopping and sight seeing trip on our way home to Africa. The location is absolutely fantastic and this is obviously what one pays for. By tube from Heathrow, it is on the same line, so with bags to lug around, one doesnt have to change tube trains and the Green Park station is not to far down the line. The hotel is also such a short stroll from the station. Staff are efficient and friendly, however they must have guessed I had steps in the corridor between the lift and my room on the 5th floor and there was no offer of a porter to trolley the bags. The bed was initially comfortably soft but after a while it was clear that the bed was saggy on one side, leading to a stiff back the following day. My daughter said her bed very comfortable! The shower curtain is ridiculously close to ones body causing it to "stick" to one as the steam built up. New hotels usually have a more rounded shower curtain rail, pushing the shower curtain away from one, but still keeping the bottom in the bathtub. There was also no functional difference when adjusting the unbearably over heated room temperature downwards. I set it to 16 degrees C (down from 25) with no noticeable difference. The outside windows are also welded shut, so hope this hotel never burns down! One of my pet hates is high priced internet levied by hotels who really rip the ring out of their guests with horrific charges. £28.00 excluding VAT for 24 hours of internet is a rip-off when there are loads of pubs and cafes nearby advertising free wi-fi. People need to understand, hotels need to have internet anyway to take your bookings, be paid, and communicate with their customers and bankers and people who book with them electronically, so to extend these services to us, their customers when we arrive would be considered a courtesy and leaves a sour taste in ones mouth to be seen as a cash cow instead of a paying customer. These were the only bad sides! The good sides are the cheerful staff, great little bar that is open til late. Although check-in is only at 2 pm, we arrived on an early morning flight from Canada and were checked in to our room immediately, allowing us the gratitude of a hot shower before heading out into London. I also requested a late check out the following day and was grateful to be given until 2 pm, which again made all the difference to our stay. There aren't many hotels in London able to offer a room with 2 double beds, and this Holiday Inn can. There are some really good pubs and restaurants within a few minutes walk, especially the original and very first Hard Rock Cafe. Walking distance to Piccadilly Circus, one tube stop to shop at Knightsbridge (Harrods) and 2 stops the other way for the Oxford Street shops. This hotel is so easily accessible to everywhere! A short stroll gets you to Hyde Park and down Piccadilly there is Fortnum & Masons, Bloomsbury Arcade etc.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a temperature control that is fully functional.

Many thanks firstly, or staying with us and secondly for leaving your comments.I am glad you found our location ideally suited your requirements. I am very happy that our staff made you feel special and offered high quality service.
Your comments, in terms of shower curtains and beds has been highlighted in the HOD meeting and actions been drawn by our Executive Head Housekeeper. I know that we are usually better than that and will improve this to you when you next come to stay with us.

Stayed here with my family for a weekend break in London. Double room had two full sized beds and small table with chair - plenty of room. Beds and pillows very comfortable. Bath towels oversized. Bathroom a litte bit tired but functional and clean. Excellent location - very short walk from Gren Park Tube stop serviced by 3 lines (including Picadilly line to/from Heathrow); Starbucks and other breakfast places, Boots drugstore, and Sainsbury grocery in immediate vicinity and Mayfair/Picadilly Circus a short walk away. Very satisfied with our stay - and would stay here again. When we stayed Priority Club members were given free wi-fi with a purchase at the restaurant/bar.

We had a very good stay at this property and would stay there again when visiting London. The Green Park Underground station is less than half a block away, which makes everything very accessible. The concierges were very helpful and understanding. They gave good suggestions for places to eat and to visit.

Room Tip: We were on the end of the third floor and had a very quiet stay.

The main benefit to this hotel is the location. Around the corner from the Green Park stop on the Piccadilly Tube line, it is extremely easy to get to any part of London. The line is direct to Heathrow. Ideal for a short break if you do not want to spend most of your time travelling around the city. Areas like Piccadilly Square, Theatre District, Hyde Park, Oxford Street and Regent Street are all in walking distince and very handy at night so you can avoid taxis etc and just walk back. The room itself is tired but clean. Could do with a revamp but for a short break you dont spend much time in the room. LCD TV and Sky Sports are great. Breakfast is expensive if not included but there is a starbucks across the road and a M&S at the Green Park stop. The WiFi is expensive too and is a pity that it is not included with the room.

The first stop of the open top bus tours is a 2 minute walk too so is handy if you plan to do this. The Original Hard Rock Cafe at Hyde Park is a 10 minute walk and well worth seeing if you have visited others around the world. Visit the shop to see their vaults where they keep things like Kurt Cobain's guitar and glasses and John Lennon's glasses.

Staff in the hotel are lovely and very helpful. We arrived early and the room was ready which is a big plus. Will be staying here again as we visit London once a year and have had no problems with this hotel at all.

Dear Guest,

Many thanks for taking the time to write and post a review. Only you can tell us if we are meeting your needs and expectations. We are very glad that you chose to stay at our hotel and found the experience pleasing. I am happy to learn that you provided a positive review of your stay with us. However, you found some aspects of our hotel less agreeable. This includes the general condition of some of our facilities. We are reviewing and enhancing the service offered by our staff; our accommodation, room rates and facility charges. I can assure you, that improvements are already evident. Our telephone charges were reduced, the elevators have been replaced and the upgrade to our Stratton Suite is completed. We are presently renewing some furniture and the carpeting in many rooms has been replaced. Our reception was recently remodelled incorporating the new Holiday Inn livery. Our highly regarded Nightingales Restaurant has also been redecorated giving it a fresh, classis-chic appearance and feel.
All feedback both positive and otherwise is shared with our teams on a regular basis with a view to improving the standards that we pride ourselves on consistently delivering here at the hotel.

Hope we have the opportunity to welcome you back soon.

Best Regards,
