We used the HR as a pit stop on our trip to Italy so we stayed their twice in a month's time. In both cases we received no-charge room upgrades from the young but eager desk staff (I think it probably helps we weren't traveling with the "package tour" groups).

This Knightsbridge property is very conveniently located across the street from the Victoria and Albert Museum and Natural History Museum (both with free admission). It's about a 10-minute walk from Harrod's as well as the South Kensington tube station. During our visit a fair amount of nearby sidewalk and road was torn up for an extensive gas line refurbishing but this didn't affect our ability to get anywhere (just made life tough for taxi drivers).

As mentioned above desk staff are young and multi-lingual. Concierge staff are helpful but not entirely knowledgable of what's available locally (ie. restaurants). A great concierge doesn't need to consult a computer to know what restaurants are nearby, etc.

The only knock on the property is that their web site (and on-site promotions) market a swimming pool/spa area which, as an American accustomed to this sort of property, one infers is free to hotel guests. The pool is actually part of a separate business and it costs GBP 7.50 just to take a plunge or sit in the hot tub. Given the hotel tariff that seemed a bit mean.

The lounge/bar area is substantial and service good. The restaurant puts on a very substantial breakfast (like: WOW!) but wasn't open for dinner service (it seemed to me the hotel was curtailing its hours).

Check-in/Check-out were a breeze and the concierge staff were a great help in finding alternative transportation to Heathrow.

Room Tip: In the short term you'll want to request a room off the street because of all the construction.

This is our fifth visit to The Rembrandt Hotel. We have stayed in all the variety of rooms. This visit we stayed in the Grand rooms. We think the King Deluxe ( with an external view ) is the best option. The Grand are larger but their outlook is not as good. The hotel is in a great location, close to South Kensington station, and we used the train from Heathrow as a very cheap and quick option, six pounds each as opposed to expensive Heathrow Express to Paddington
The hotel is spotlessly clean, staff every efficient and the breakfast is always good. Fantastic location in London and is of a reasonable price for the quality you receive. The staff arranged a car for our return to the airport and it was on time, spotless and very quick.
The negative comment is that it would be nice that the fact you are a return guest is noted. A friend we ran into at the hotel stays often and also commented that she is not welcomed as a return guest.
When back in London we will stay at The Rembrandt again.

My wife and myself have just spent two days at this lovely hotel and we were delighted with the treatment we received. The hotel knew we were celebrating a special occasion and upgraded us to a junior suite. On arrival in our room we found a congratulatory card and a rather nice bottle of red wine (and two glasses of course). The hotel is spotlessly clean and the service you receive is all you would expect from a hotel of this grade. The dining room is delightful and the choices at breakfast would satisfy every palate. The young staff in the dining room are attentive to your every need. Our only regret is that we did not have time to sample the delights of the adjoining swimming pool and spa.
The hotel is ideally situated for the big stores such as Harrods and is only a short taxi ride from the bustling heart of theatre land.
Would we stay again......MOST CERTAINLY

My husband and I just spent a lovely week in London at the Hotel Rembrandt. The location is perfect for shopping, museums, dining and transportation - situated between Knightsbridge and South Kensington underground stations. We stayed in a fully renovated "Grand" room with a roomy seating area, king bed ( with the best mattress ever ! ), marble bathroom and all amenities, including a delicious full English breakfast buffet. The room - facing the rear - was comfortable, quiet and ideal. We would recommend this hotel to all who require perfect comfort and service at a fair price in a great area of London.

Room Tip: The "Grand" room was perfect !
