“great location!”

The flat was in a great location with everything just about 10 - 20 minutes by either bus or tube. A good grocery store 3 blocks away, several coffee shops nearby. The flat was very spacious and comfortable. For a family of four, it was perfect and we would definitely book it again.

“Clean, comfy, quiet, great location...”
Reviewed 2 August 2017 for a stay in June 2017

The rooms are quite spacious, as the title says.
The street is pretty quiet, and the flat itself is very quiet because it's the only one in the building.
Nice central location. The closest tube stops are .5 mile away so we just rode buses everywhere, which is cheaper, less stressful and more scenic anyway.

Thank you for taking the time to review our Bloomsbury flat. It is a good point that if you stay in central London, you can largely avoid the tube (London's subway/metro) and walk or take buses. You do see more of London and you can really start to get to know this glorious city. Thanks again!

“Our Own London Digs”
Reviewed 7 October 2015 for a stay in September 2015

Everyone has his/her own reasons for opting to rent an apartment/flat instead of staying in a hotel and sheer economy and convenience top the list in most cases. When my husband and I chose to travel with two younger female friends, we knew all of us would like privacy but also common spaces where we could gather to eat, share drinks and compare experiences and make plans. Melissa's spacious Bloomsbury apartment ticked all our boxes and could not have been any better for us.

Our holiday started on a sour note when BA delayed our flight for twelve hours putting us at the apartment at midnight. In spite of the hour, Melissa's husband greeted us and took time to explain how everything worked even though he would have been much happier sleeping. We were soon at the 24-hour grocery store two blocks away scoring snacks and groceries to get us through breakfast. We were delighted with all the storage space to hang clothes and all of us found the beds to be extremely comfortable. There is one bathroom for everyone and this requires a little cooperation but nothing major. We made use of all the appliances and most of the cutlery and plate. Very nice fridge and freezer. Honestly we wanted for nothing and the quiet neighborhood was exactly what was needed after going full tilt every day. We had three days out and Kings Cross Station was an easy fifteen minute walk.
If there is anything worth noting that may be a negative, it is the number of stairs. I am quite old and the last flight upward always found me catching my breath for a moment. A positive on this is that I actually lost three pounds so perhaps I need to add stair climbing to my routine. My husband must have commented daily that staying at Melissa's was so much better than staying at a hotel and I agree. If you are an independent traveler who loves your own space, this could be the flat for you. Lovely owners who go out of their way to make you happy. Wonderful.

“Clean, convienent, and a nice manager”

I'm torn between a 3 vs 4 bubble rating, but I highlight the positive and not great aspects. Booking was easy, and the owner/manager was quick to answer any of our questions. They provided great directions on how to arrive from the airport to the apartment. They are located in the same building so it was nice to be received by the manager on arrival. She walked us to our apartment and showed us around. They even brought up our luggage, which was a nice touch after our long flight and train ride.

The location is nice, but be prepared to walk or buy a bus ticket. Walking to most of the major sites is possible if you don't mind trekking for 30-40 minutes, which we don't. Buses are reasonably priced so when we got tired we hoped on a bus, and the bus stops right down the street.

The biggest downside was that the free wifi was only functional if you sat in the uncomfortable chairs in the kitchen. Coverage rarely worked in the living room, and was non-functional in the bedrooms. There was limited supply of toilet paper and paper towels, and we ended up buying our own.

Following this review, we installed new kit to boost the wifi. Fast and free wifi is now available in every room of the building.

London is 35 miles wide and while most of the attractions are in the centre, there is no one perfect district in which to stay where everything is within a 20 minute walk.

Take, for example, London's four UNESCO World Heritage Sites; Greenwich in South East London is 9 miles from the Tower of London and Tower Bridge, which are a further 3 miles from Westminster (this apartment is in between Tower of London and Westminster) and it is yet another 8 miles out to South West London to see the fourth World Heritage Site at the Royal Botanic Gardens in Kew.

This apartment is in Bloomsbury which is in zone one on the tube (subway/metro) map and is very much in central London. For possible future guests reading this review, I would ask that they consider other travellers who have described the apartment as being in a 'great location', 'well-located' and 'central'.

“Well located”
Reviewed 23 August 2015 for a stay in August 2015

This apartment was very comfortable, modern and well-located. Was so easy to get to - from Heathrow, no tube change is necessary - and is close to all the attractions. It is also in a relatively quiet area.
