I have not stayed vacationed in London for about 10 years, and am pleased to find that my favourite hotel from years ago still is a great spot. Location is excellent for a vacationioner; 3 tube stations within a 5-10 walk, with 6 different lines passing through. Theatres very close, and scores of eating choices from quick grab and goes to fine dining. The hotel has had alot of money spent on it with room refurnished from top to bottom. King bedded rooms are very large for a London hotel. Breakfast is also good for an included hotel meal. WiFi dependable. Windows open for those that like fresh air. Rooms fronting The Strand can be a bit noisy, so ask for one elsewhere or opt for one of the "interior" rooms were windows front a light shaft and there is no noise what so ever. A very busy property, but well maintained, professional staff a deleivering a very good stay.

Room Tip: the interior rooms avoid all street noise, yet provide fresh air through opening windows.

Myself and my wife stayed here for one night 09/03/12. This is the 2nd stay we have had at this hotel and both stays were great. The staff are always friendly and the door men always greet you with a friendly hello and smile.
We arrived too early for check in but this wasnt a problem, they sorted out a room to be ready for 2pm and stored our case in the luggage room for free, however there is a small charge for them to hold your bags once you have checked out. £2 per bag which wasnt a problem as we were spending the day in London and didnt fancy dragging a case around with us.
we avoided the hotel bars as these were a rip off, i am from up north and would most definatley refuse to pay those drinks prices at home there is lots of good pubs and bars all in walking distance though, still pricey but not as bad as the hotel.
This won't put us off staying again though as it really is a lovely hotel.
The hotel is having a makeover at the minute and is covered in scaffolding all along the front, however don't let this put you off as it does not interfere with your stay at all.
The location is perfect for getting to covent garden and the west end. No need to buy a tube ticket if you are wanting to stay around this end of London.

Stayed here for a business trip, good central location. I had a small single room. functional, clean, everything I needed. I ate in the restaurant, they have a set price 2 or 3 course meal including a carvery. The food was very nice, friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was good too, slef service except coffee or tea and a great selection of breakfast options.

My partner and I stayed here one night in 2009 when we just fancied a weekend in the centre of our home town. Room was ok but bathroom was tiny and the radiator was squahed right up next to the toilet - it took real care to avoid being burned. Room service was good - and the fish and chips were lovely. I expect better value for money overall than this hotel provided

I loved this hotel. I only stayed 1 night as had planned to see a show. I started looking at budget hotels but quickly realised that Budget is difficult to find in London! I booked the Strand Palance as it was recommended on a forum i use plus was near the Savoy theatre. I was ao glad i did. The locition is fantastic. From the moment i worked in, i found the staff polite and welcoming and check in efficient. My room (single without a view) was clean and comfortable-more then enough space for me. Breakfast was fantastic, lots of choice and staff again very friendly and efficient. I was aso able to leave my bag on departure day knowing it was safe and secure (though it did cost £2-possibly the only negitive of my stay and as for the price of room i should have been able to leave it for free) I would definatly stay here again.
