Hotel location is perfect for Hyde Park and surrounding area. We had budget basement room. This was very clean, large bed, window ( so fresh air). Bathroom very small but only in room for one night so no worries. This also was very clean. Staff very polite and helpful.
As our room was located next to the restaurant I thought it would cause noise problems in the morning but this wasn't the case. We were up for breakfast at 7am, which was included in price but for an English beakfast there was an additional charge. Plently of choice for breakfast, so happy all round. Would recommend

Room Tip: Budget rooms are most likely to be in the basement

Nothing fancy, just a clean, friendly, well-located place to stay. I rented a single room which was small (about the same size as a Travelodge room) but comfortable. The staff were friendly without being overly familiar or intrusive. Only down side (and this the Commodore shares with many hotels) was that the cost of wi-fi was not included in the price of the room. For many travellers internet access is more important than a trouser-press, a hair-drier, a mini-bar, an electric safe, a television etc yet hotels continue to charge exorbitant prices for access. Other than this I would happily recommend the Commodore Hotel.

We often stay at the Commodore Hotel on a quiet street when in London. It is very close to the Lancaster Gate tube station on the Central Line. I run in Hyde Park while here, and it is a short walk to Kensington Palace, the Albert Memorial, the Serpentine and Serpentine Museum, to Queensway and Paddington Stations, Whitely's etc. Just across the park are the Science Museum, V&A, Albert Hall, etc., all within walking distance. The staff is professional and very helpful. Rooms vary across a wide range, from spacious and elegant to rather utilitarian. It is always clean, and the breakfasts,(included,) are really very good: great yogurts, breads, jams, boiled eggs, fresh fruit, cheeses, meats, etc. Tea and coffee services in rooms, and mini fridges, laundry service available, etc. The restaurant on site is good and Halepi (Greek), Assaha, (Lebanese) are nearby. The Mitre and the Swan are good local pubs. Not a super posh hotel, nor a large one but it has plenty of charm. A very good spot in London.

Room Tip: Request a room with a balcony if possible. All sides of the hotel are quiet.
