“Great value for money!”
Reviewed 27 March 2012

The hotel service was the biggest stand-out point for my wife and I, super friendly and always accommodating our requests. Location is surperb, where two tube stations are less than 10 mins walking distance. The hotel room was clean and quiet, slightly on the small side; but I gathered this would be the case any where in London. Overall totally recommend this hotel.

I stayed here for business for 7 nights. The room was small (it is London), but modern and comfortable. The location was great, less than 5 minutes walk to the tube and walking distance to Hyde park, the Natural History museum and plenty more. The room had a large bathroom and the mini kitchen area was handy for making my own breakfast. A great value base for your stay in London.

My husband and I stayed at Base2Stay Kensington last year on our first trip to London. We arrived around 10:00am with our room being ready at arrival, we stayed in a Large Double/Twin, our room was very comfortable with a large bath area.

We enjoyed the mini-kitchen keeping snacks, drinks and other food items available during our stay, (which kept expenses down)

We are planning our next trip now and we plan an extended stay in London the only place to stay for us is Base2Stay.

We stay at base2stay each time we come to London. The city has become so expensive since we lived here in the early 2000's and it is difficult to find something worth the high prices. With this hotel you get small rooms but they are modern and clean. The fridge and kettle help with tea and snacks and as has been mentioned before the storage is fine. Free WiFi as well. If you have trouble with stairs be careful to avoid the the lower rooms as with some you have to climb the typical narrow turned staircase to get to your room (with your suitcases). Staff is very welcoming and helpful. They earned their Trip Advisor award. If order a mini-cab from the front desk a very courteous driver and new Mercedes will take you to the airport in 20 minutes (47pounds).

Where to begin? Everything about base2saty was just perfect. We came to London for 4 days, visiting from Canada. I brought my 2 teenagers and 2 of their friends, as well as my mum and we had 3 rooms at base2stay. I had searched online for many hours before our trip, looking for a hotel I could bring my family to at a reasonable price. Base2stay looked great online, including the reviews – and in person, it was even better!

Location: What could be better than Kensington? The hotel is a situated on a lovely street, across from a park (private, maybe?) and just a short walk to Earl’s Court tube station – we were at the London Eye in minutes. Just as close is Cromwell Road and we caught a double-decker bus to Harrods and then walked all the way to Hyde Park corner and Buckingham Palace.

The hotel itself is a haven: Beautiful and clean inside and out. Our rooms looked just like they do on the base2stay website - the decor, the linens on the beds, the towels in the lovely bathrooms.. all high quality. The corridors are nice and wide and bright. The little kitchenettes made a world of difference, as we could buy groceries on our way ‘home’ in the evenings, just outside Earl’s Court tube station – there are lots of little shops open late – and have dinner or snacks and a glass of wine in our rooms and a light breakfast in the morning before we headed out. Our trip cost less than budgeted because we saved so much on eating out.

The staff at base2stay was very friendly and helpful, both before our arrival and during our stay. I’d sent a request in advance, asking that our rooms be situated close together if possible and, while they couldn’t guarantee it, they said they’d try. And they did – our rooms were all on the same corridor.

There were no surprises on the bill at check-out time. From now on, when we’re in London, we’ll stay at base2stay. And I’ve already started telling my friends to do the same. This hotel is a gem.
