I LOVE this hotel for so many reasons! The people that work there are incredibly gracious and friendly, they are truly a pleasure. The rooms are decorated in luscious fabrics, comfortable beds, lovely bathrooms and they are spacious, even the Queen rooms have decent closet space, but if you want more space stay in a larger room. There is a generous supply of Miller Harris products in the bathroom and always a personalized note greeting you upon arrival along with a small gift. If you join the design hotels group you will get your breakfast and wifi included in the price. Yes, the prices are high but it is so worth it and by the way, the prices are lower than any of the grand dame hotels and I am certain not as personable. Take a walk around Covent Garden and of course, many of the museums and theatres are close by.

Very nice hotel in a lively location, easily reached from Heathrow by tube. By asking before arrival, got them to waive the rather insulting £20 per night wifi charge. For morning coffee and pastry, there's the Monmouth coffee bar across the street. At checkout, the sweet girl at the desk, who was surprised I recognized Stephen Sondheim stepping out of the elevator, also seemed surprised that I had no charges except the room itself. Really, dear, isn't $1,878.57 for three nights enough?

Perfect location, immaculate service, fantastic ambience.

Stayed here twice in junior suites, and a third time we were upgraded to the sumptuous loft suite. Nothing to fault, everything to praise. No, Firmdale Hotels aren't cheap, but worth the cost.

Always our first choice for London, second would probably be another Firmdale property.

This is the only hotel I've ever stayed in where there was absolutely Nothing to complain about. The staff are polite and professional and extremely efficient. The hotel has a calming vibe- an oasis in a busy city. But thats not to say its dull- far from it with stunning restaurant, welcoming entrance hall, spectacular lounge magnificently furnished- with an "Honesty Bar". The bedrooms have everything one could wish for with every comfort- bathrooms are fitted with high spec showers and bath. The location is wonderful for business and tourism. Of course this doesn't come cheap but this level of perfection must has to come at a price.Check out the magnificent photos that are posted on this site.

Room Tip: My second floor, front room was silent with the magnificent windows shut, The A/C was almost noisele...

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
The Covent Garden Hotel opened in April 1996 but the building dates back to the 1890’s when it operated as a French hospital. It is located in Monmouth Street, a charming cobbled street in the heart of the theatre district and surrounded by interesting boutiques, restaurants, cafes and bars. Covent Garden Hotel is "a quirky modern take on traditional English style." The hotel's interior has been dramatically designed by owner and design director Kit Kemp, and reflects her personal attention to detail. The ground floor is just like a stage set. A quietly bustling lobby leads into Brasserie Max, the hotel’s bar and restaurant. Up a sweeping stone staircase and into a sumptuous wood paneled drawing room and library, each with a log burning fireplace, quirky furniture and vivid upholstery. Downstairs there is a gym, private event space and a screening room. ... more   less
