Don’t do the tour! On the tour you are told what Wikipedia would’ve told you and you see what you would see if you to see a show. Shows are cheap and awesome, so just book a show and look around. But 17£ to walk around barely hearing because the tour group is so large and only to the theatre it’s robbery. We didn’t see backstage, it is a separate tour to see the Wanamaker theatre. Very disappointed!

This review is from the prospective of a 14 year old.
We visited the globe theatre with school. It was a good experience, we had a little tour of the stage and the surrounding area of the globe. We then had a detailed discussion with a member of staff in a conference room telling us about the history of the globe. It was a very good tour and discussion. I wouldn't recommend this for child under the age of 12 as it would be very tedious but for anybody above 12 I strongly recommend this as it is a great piece of British history. Well worth a visit

When my Dad preyed the entrance fee we thought wow...that’s a lot (my Mom and I had the London Pass which included this experience). But it was absolutely fantastic. Fee or Fi (which was short for something, I knew I’d forget..sorry) our lovely lady guide was the best guide during all of our six day sightseeing trip! Thank you! Amazing architecture and the best presented information. The gift shop was the best too! We’ll definitely come to visit a play this summer.

This is a must place to visit. We all had to read Shakespeare one time or another. Entry will give a guided tour, guide explains with flair and very informative. It was interesting to learn how the Globe Theatre was build recently and old one torn down hundreds of years ago. We got there right after opening so not sure how the lines are other times, but we were in with couple others. So I am assuming not much of line during days.

We arrived when it opened at 9 a.m. The first docent tour was not until 10 a.m. because there were actors who were using the theatre at the time. However, you are provided with a very informative audio tour which you can use before the guided tour. Plus, if you are unable to complete the audio tour prior to your guided tour, you are permitted to return (with your ticket) and complete the remainder of your audio tour.

The guided tour is very good. The guides are very enthusiastic about the theatre and its productions. However, they make it quite clear that this company is not part of the Royal Shakespeare Company. Worth a visit.
