The first thing that our nieces said when we asked them where they wanted to visit on our trip to London was Buckingham palace!! They wanted to see where our queen lived, so on the very first day we stood outside in the drizzle watching the changing of the guard at the palace. They LOVED it, loved the palace, loved the crowds, the atmosphere, well worth a visit

Went to the palace planning on seeing the changing of the guard but I assume the time on the website was incorrect because they did not change at 10:45. We waited an hour but still nothing so we left. Beautiful place but wish they would update their website. Still a must see!

You must arrive 2-3 hours before changing guard so you can see something. If you want to listen to commands and music - sit next to the fence. If you want to have an overview - sit around the statue in the central square. Police are not friendly and push visitors.

The grandeur of the royals and Buckingham Palace mane this a must see landmark. Walk down the approach road from Hyde park to Buckingham since the road is closed and only open to pedestrians.

The guard changing is not so great as expected. It last lest than one hour. The atmosphere is easy and light.
