This is one of the highlights of our trip and traveling with young children was not easy but the kids did well. And one of the highlights was getting to the Tower of London and seeing the Crown Jewels.
One word of advice right from the start... get there early and head straight to the back where the building is for the Crown Jewels. It gets busy quickly and then the line extends for quite a bit. We didn’t have to wait at all and walked right in.
The tour is all ages and did not disappoint. I learns a lot about the history of the Crown Jewels and how the collection came to be. Fascinating!!
Then we went to the big tower to start our tour there where you learned about the history of the Tower of London, and the people who took part in the building, restoring, rebuilding, etc. We also learned a lot about the kinds and the succession of rulers and the armor and weapons used in battle.
Great walk around the battlements and multitude of towers and even a separate building which houses the Museum of the Fusaliers, which I enjoyed but the young kids... not so much.
Great time for all... highly recommend this site for visitors!!
