When I emerged from Victoria Station into the busy streets, I could not have imagined that there would be such a haven of peace within a few hundred yards, but there was - at the Premier Inn. The location is a typical London side-street of flats and offices, not 'an industrial estate' as another contributor strangely describes it. When in my room, I could hear virtually nothing, either from inside or outside the hotel. For the first time I had dinner in a Premier, and again was pleasantly surprised. In the quiet and civilised basement restaurant I had a curry on the first night, which was good, and a pizza on the second night, which was excellent - as good as I've had anywhere. Nice bar, decent breakfast, pleasant staff. You could pay a lot more in London for a lot less.
