The chances are you are staying at the hotel, and although there are restaurants within a short walk of the hotel, the '55' (the first year Chelsea won the league title) is convenient.
The decor is nothing to rave about and there is more atmosphere in outer space. It's a hotel dining room used for breakfast, lunch and dinner, but there is no shortage of waiting staff and we had an enthusiastic and professional restaurant manager to make sure our needs were met.
The service was friendly and efficient, even for our group of 13, and they even offered alternatives to the main courses on the menu to cater for the teenage boys in our party. Lamb steaks or cheeseburgers and fries? No prizes for guessing which they chose.
The choice of beers was disappointing..just bottled Singha, presumably because the team sponsor won't allow anything else. The soup tasted fresh and homemade and the main courses and desserts were equally flavorsome.
I wouldn't eat here every night, but if you can't face the walk, the '55' is more than just a last resort.
