If I could rate this zero I would. Upon paying close to £50 for the family ticket at lauriston castle. To walk around what no doubt would be a lovely castle walk for a few £ entry I would imagine. Instead walking through a very poorly displayed set of rubber dinosaurs and lovely blue rope everywhere for the do not touch signs. ( Well placed. ..... Not)  they were just dumped in the middle of grass patches. 1-2 hours normally spent here.  Erm. How about 40 Minutes and we were going slow and stopping to take photos of the kids. Am afraid a very large, under impressive waste of money.  Again another tourist trap. £5 for a hot dog £3 for soggy chips. Thanks for that.  Oh and if you want your kids to view the VR seated simulation. Well. That's another £5 each.  £70 total to take my kids to something for 40 minutes. Ripped off.  They know you can't just not go once your there  and with the no refund part .  Laughing to the bank. How can they sleep at night. Oh I know. In the massive comfy bed in the huge house that all the money they make paid for.  Sickening.  Go to a country park or take a wilderness walk. Much more impressive for free and read about dinosaurs online or in books.

We visited Jurassic Kingdom at Lauriston Castle yesterday. We had two children (8&9) and paid £44 for a family ticket.

What a disappointment! We trudged through the VERY muddy paths around the displays for just under an hour. It was a complete rip off. The food and merchandise were way overpriced and the whole place felt like it was designed to extract money.

The displays themselves were very poor. Not very educational. Many of the displays were not accurate eg the size of the dinosaurs. One even had a piece of metal sticking out of it. The information boards were often covered in mud (most likely from some bored kid climbing on them) leaving them difficult to read. No attempt to make any authentic setting for the dinosaur. It sits on a metal frame with all the wires and loudspeakers littered about.

If we had our time again we would not have gone. Save your hard earned cash and avoid!

The whole exhibition doesn’t have anything to do with a dinosaur’s kingdom. There is even no minimal effort made to make this event an attraction. The Dinosaurs are placed on the Lauriston Castle ground almost like they would land there by mistake, dropped off by plane. The main attraction should be the T-Rex, and is by the entrance (should be logically at the end of the walk). After walking there, you start thinking that this event is totally missing the point about education and the excitement of showing the magic and uniqueness of the biggest creatures that lived on earth. Instead of what should be a magical family day out, it has a large T-Rex poop stench of a cash making machine as an attraction for children.

Had very hopes for this attraction but felt quite let down. The dinosaurs themselves are quite impressive in the way they move and sound but they do look quite tired (for example there was a metal pole sticking out of one). The whole event feels very half hearted and thrown together; there’s no signage to tell you where to go, the dinosaurs are just plonked in spaces without any thought for a timeline of when they existed. There are even staged fights between two dinosaurs who would never have met because they lived millions of years apart, not particularly educational! The main attraction the T-Rex is also located directly in front of the portaloos and catering outlets, making for interesting photos. There is a children’s sandpit but beware there are only 2 spades so children might be waiting some time to dig!

The event could be so much better, why not make the surroundings nicer with some shrubbery around the bottom of the dinosaurs to help hide the metal frame and the electricity sockets. Better interpretation boards would also help engage children more. The ground is also suffering quite badly with wet weather and volume of people on site, and I saw several people struggling with pushchairs and wheelchairs through the mud.

Disappointing experience, unfortunately the lack of effort that has gone into the event makes the whole thing feel very much like a greedy money making activity and not in any way about customer satisfaction.

we saw this in leeds. grandparents, kids and grandkids. we all had a really enjoyable time. takes a good hour to walk around and you don't get ripped off. search around on google and you'll find a 20 % discount. works out about £10 per adult. going by some reviews you would think it expensive. we loved it. great for families
