“excellent food and service, friendly waiters, nice atmosphere.”
Reviewed 7 November 2011

I have known most of the waiters from a previous restaurant for years now and am always welcomed any time of day. I feel like part of the "family" whilst there and am well looked after. Reasonable priced well presented food at all times. The sea bass is a must and do try one of their pizzas.

“A real local quality Italian”
Reviewed 6 October 2011

The beauty of this place is that it has a great range of food on the menu for everyday eating at good value - and a variety of daily specials when you want the full works. Lovely staff and very relaxed.

“Excellent, Reasonably Priced Italian food with lovely service”
Reviewed 26 June 2011

I think this is a wonderful restaurant with really nice food. I've been on several occasions and enjoyed excellent well presented and well served food and good quality house wine.

Most recently I was there for a celebratory lunch with friends. We had really attentive and charming service and the staff were so kind as to let us bring our own bottle of champagne which they chilled and served for us. The venue is clean and well laid out with wood tables, clean napery and cutlery and a lovely outdoor seating area.

The food is classic Italian staples but served well and cooked from fresh ingredients. I had pasta in the house style (with chicken, garlic, shallots and peppers in a creamy sauce. The pasta was done to perfection. The creme caramel was also done to perfection and attractively laid out.

Definitely a wonderful local restaurant worth repeat visits. The service is lovely and the staff are helpful and organised.

“Pleasant inexpensive Italian”
Reviewed 16 October 2008

This is a good place for very affordable Italian food (not pizza) with friendly staff and a pleasant atmosphere.

Plus points:
-- Very friendly staff, who do not try to push bottled water (they offer tap water) or expensive wines on you
-- Olives and very nice bread with olive oil and balsamic (I think there was a small cover charge for this, like the standard 'coperto' in Italy)
-- Most starters under £4
-- Most pasta and risotto dishes about £5
-- Meat and fish dishes also available (up to about £10 or £12)
-- Daily specials
-- Generous with the parmesan
-- Unusual twists on popular dishes (e.g. starters of baked goat's cheese with ripe mango; and asparagus with blue cheese and parma ham, both of which were very good)
-- They don't hurry you: you can take as long as you like
-- Non-intrusive background music (not muzak)
-- Complimentary sambucca / limoncello
-- There seemed to be lots of local Italians eating there: a good sign

Minus points
-- None really, except that you have to ask the prices of the specials, as they are more expensive than the main menu dishes
-- I thought that my pasta was a little over-cooked, but not much
-- House red wine OK, but not great, about £11 per bottle (pretty good by London standards); it's probably worth spending a bit more for something nicer

Making reservations is probably a wise move: their phone no is (020) 7207 1612
