Our reserved table was waiting by the window so we perused the standard menu and ordered at the bar. It’s not a huge menu but there’s enough choice and prices are good for London.

I returned to my seat, started talking and BANG, our food arrived!! It was exactly 8 minutes since I ordered it - amazing. Okay, it was only ham, egg, chips and peas. But the plate was full and it was cooked well. The only problem was it was pretty cold, which was perplexing as the food arrived so quickly.

I’d love to give this place a higher score next time we visit (it’s only 10mins walk from the RAH) when hopefully hot food is served.

We stopped in for lunch. The food was affordable and came out of the kitchen in quickly. We did not know that many of London's pubs have been taken over by brewery chains which takes away from the experience a little. We had a wonderful bartender/waiter who was very efficient and friendly.

Really delicious meal. Portion was huge. This was my first fish & chips since I left UK 12 years ago and it really brought me back. Fish was fresh and the chips were perfect. Love that they included buttered bread for chip butty. The Apple crumble was equally awesome. Returning Mar 2019 and will go back to this Pub. Can't wait!

After touring the palace and gardens, you'll be in the mood for a pint or three. The Goat is just a few paces away. This is a friendly pub that aims for local appeal. Tourists are welcomed, but The Goat respects their neighbors. They serve good and inexpensive food. Their fish and chips are not like the ones giving tourists horror stories about British cuisine. The selection of ales will let you experience different brewing techniques from around the United Kingdom. It's a lot of fun! If you want to experience the London pub scene, consider The Goat.

Interesting twist going up the stairs and around a corner & thru a darkish tunnel and you come across a speak easy style old world cocktail bar. Music is classical old style and sounds like a gramophone. Drinks are great plus some craft beers. We did not try the food but will next time. Recommended.
