Nice grub and good selection of beers. Had venison, tasty but tight on the meat for 18£. Vegan bro was catered for with consideration. Other bro had chicken. Again not much meat, but tasty. Try the tatton gold ale.

Visited the place on a cold rainy night, and since we had no reservation we were told to wait 30 minutes to be served. So we were directed to the bar downstairs where one could have a nice quiet drink. Punctually after half an hour taken to our table and served with a very nice fish'n'chips which we enjoyed very much together with some local beer. Excellent friendly service, good value although not cheap.

We had not visited Fonsecas for a few years but we were pleased to see the very high standard has been maintained. We had not booked a table but there were plenty available when we arrived just before 6 p.m. The menu was full of variety, something for every palate. We chose the ham and vegetable broth and hummus for starters and for mains we had the lamb and lentil curry and the chick peas Tagine with couscous. All the food was superb, tasting just like proper home cooked food. There is a wide choice of wines from across the world and a fine selection of bottled and canned beers, both local and from Europe and the USA. Unsurprisingly we had no space for desserts. The prices are very reasonable for food of such high quality while the service is friendly and efficient. Highly recommended.

Loved this stylish flavour palace. Delightful, welcoming staff - who remained friendly and attentive as early Friday night started to get busier.

Started with the succulent "Better Than Carpaccio" which went superbly with a dry gin martini with olives! Venison to follow - so appealing I attacked it before the photo. As you can see, the strawberry Bakewell tart with raspberries and custard was hell - HELL. I had to completely clean my plate to be sure.

I enjoyed dining tour seul, but what a lovely place for a romantic dinner or a bigger gathering.

My bill was just over £60 - but that's £30 on drink (someone had three fabulously dry martinis). I was frankly surprised it wasn't more.

Lovely.
