Owner description: Situated in the Cavern Quarter at the heart of the city. Liverpool's most famous street not only houses the Cavern Club but numerous references and connections to the "four lads who shook the world" and Liverpool's long musical heritage. There's shopping, bars and pubs, and come summer weekends the street is packed with partying locals and tourists.

Visit the home of the Cavern Club and Pub, Also the Pub where the Beatles used to go for a drink. There is a bronze statue of John Lennon and Cilla Black here also. A must to see to complete the Beatles story

If the Liverpool of the 1960's means anything to you, the Beatles, Gerry and the Pacemakers and Cilla Black are all echoes of the past as you walk down the street where it all happened. Always busy, lively and fun, worth a walk down memory lane anytime.

Several bronze statues - great fun to take pictures with them! Tons of bars, several restaurants and gift shops. During the day it is absolutely fine, but after dark it seems that the drunk people multiply by 10. Also, before heading down to Mathew Street - check if either Everton or Liverpool soccer teams lost that day. It can dramatically change the atmosphere.
