Went to Allerton Hall Farm for a meal with family and paid for four meals and a starter on two cards. The first two meals came out followed by the starter and then the second two meals came out half an hour later. I asked staff why this was and apparently I made two different orders. Which in fact is incorrect as I made one order but made two payments.

Then I paid over £4 for two scoops of ice cream and 5 minutes later a member of staff came over to the table next to us and gave free ice cream to the child sitting at that table because one of the adults sitting at the table also worked at the pub.
That’s also not to mention a member of staff lingering around at the table opposite because her friend was sitting there.

We have been three times now. Each time the food and service has been great, hence us returning. Carvery is gorgeous and always fresh. I like the fact that they separate families and non families. This is a great way to work things. We have been as a couple, where we wanted quiet time, so were happy to be in an adult only area. But have also been with our young nieces, where we could let them be kids without worrying about people around us rolling their eyes if the kids made noise/moved round the table. The play area is also a great addition.
The one downfall is the ice cream. They have this amazing display of about 10 flavours - yet both of the 2 times we have asked for ice cream, they've only actually had a couple of flavours! And have run out of cones! Would be better to have a blackboard type display with flavours they actually have available, rather than a display that gets your tastebuds going, only for them to let you down!

We visited on 1st April for a family meal. As well as a carvery with so much choice it was a very extensive menu suitably priced. The children loved the outdoor play area. Just a shame it rained.
