Lots to watch from here, ferries coming in and out all day, Catch the ferry across the Mersey, or head off to the Isle Of Man.

It's the place to visit to view The Liver Buildings close up, the Beatles Statues that Paul McCartney recently made a surprise visit, view the cruise ships and take a trip on a ferry boat across the River Mersey. Occasionally events are held here too and televised.

A great vantage point to see the docks and the beautiful old buildings that surround it such as the Liver Building. Only a short walk away from the museums and eating places. Well signposted for attractions and very clean. Perfect spot to sit and people watch.

We came here just before we were about to leave and it was a nice place to just chill and clear your head

You are by the water, there are many landmarks around.... yet you still feel like you are in a space of your own and for this reason I loved it

I often took a walk down the pier head to relieve some of the stress as a student. I wouldn't recommend visiting in the middle of the summer as it can get rather busy. If you're a student or live in the city, I'd recommend a late night jog along the pier head. I used to go a couple of times a week, between 11pm anywhere up to 5am and it was very very rare to see anybody.

If you go very early morning, it is a brilliant spot to watch the sunrise. It is also very interesting to see the high and low tides, as in bad weather you'd see waves crashing against the wall and spilling over onto the pier head, but during low tide on good weather the place is next to empty at times.
