I often took a walk down the pier head to relieve some of the stress as a student. I wouldn't recommend visiting in the middle of the summer as it can get rather busy. If you're a student or live in the city, I'd recommend a late night jog along the pier head. I used to go a couple of times a week, between 11pm anywhere up to 5am and it was very very rare to see anybody.

If you go very early morning, it is a brilliant spot to watch the sunrise. It is also very interesting to see the high and low tides, as in bad weather you'd see waves crashing against the wall and spilling over onto the pier head, but during low tide on good weather the place is next to empty at times.

take a walk around this historic part of Liverpool, the 3 graces are a sight to behold and along side them there is a selection of newer modern buildings. a fantastic way to spend a couple of hours

In our opinion the Pier Head has be spoiled by adding a fair ground & pop up stalls. What was once magnificent is now tacky.
