Just to say my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the guided tour of The Albert Dock area with Liverpoolcitywalks last Friday [ 13th October]. Being the only local Scousers on the tour we thought we knew a bit about Liverpool but we had our eyes opened to many fascinating facts. I particularly was interested in the first wet dock and the original Pool - the little maps and anecdotes provided by Kevin , our guide, really brought the history to life.

In particular Kevin promoted lots of other Liverpool attractions, the Cathedrals, museums, art galleries etc, many of them free to access, which amazed the other non-Scousers on the tour. The number of "Liverpool Firsts" left those visiting Liverpool for the first time a little non-plused.
Billed as a 90 minute walk, we were all still around nearly 3 hours later , eager to learn more.

Finally, Kevin if you are reading this you are a fantastic ambassador for the City and the Region. Please keep up the good work.

Many thanks for your wonderful comments. It was fortunate that your guide had the time available in order to accommodate the extensive interest of the group and provide additional information and explanation as an extension to the normal tour. We are always happy to try and accommodate special requests if we can and are always appreciative of the feedback.
We look forward to walking with you again.

Sue

This was a Heritage Days Blue Badge Guided Tour so not sure if generally available. But if so, it was an informative tour and well worth doing. It was led by an engaging guide, Marie, who knew her material and kept us all very interested. She, along with her colleague who led the Albert Docks Heritage Tour the previous day (whose name escapes me, sorry), was a credit to both the organisation and city. The tours were free (as Heritage Open Days events) but I would have no hesitation in paying for similar in future.

We booked this tour as we were interested in a tour of inside the 3 Graces. As a previous reviewer has now commented, that was a very small part of the tour.
As a tour of the Waterfront and Albert Dock it would have been excellent, the guide was informative and it was well paced, but not what was advertised or expected. We spent an hour and a half outside, many around Albert Dock, and then 30 minutes in total inside the 3 Buildings, and then only in the entrance foyers which you could walk into anyway. The guide did give some interesting and useful information inside the buildings. One of my party had recently gone on the FREE Heritage Walk which was part of the Maritime weekend, and everything except the short time inside the buildings was the same.

We are sorry to hear you were somewhat disappointed with your walk. The 3 Graces are all working buildings and therefore, as you can appreciate, access is very limited. However, we are the only tour that has access beyond the reception foyer of the Royal Liver Building into the middle atrium.
Liverpool City Walks is owned and operated by a group of Blue and Green Badge qualified local tourist guides working as co-operative and we all share in the delivery of our walks. Once a year, as our contribution to the Heritage Open Days, we offer the same walk for free.
We are grateful for all comments as our group meets regularly to constantly strive to improve our offerings.
Thank you

We joined a small walking group on Sunday morning lead by the very engaging, entertaining and knowledgeable John. Lots of great informative facts about the larger sites, supplemented with lots of little gems as the walk progressed. We had a great time on the tour and followed up the recommendations made on where else to visits during our short break. Thoroughly recommend the tour and John made a lovely sunny Liverpool morning even better. Thanks again.
