Booked very last minute to allow a bit more time for an early flight from Liverpool airport and, to be fair, DHH is pretty convenient on this front. It was also inexpensive. This is where its virtues cease. Venturing beyond the main reception, you become aware that this place is run down and tired. Paintwork is peeling, carpets are worn. On the way to the room, it is clear fromt he whiff on the corridor that this isn't a non-smoking hotel; what's more, the smoking going on is somewhat more 'exotic' than mere cigarettes. Having navigated the very warm corridor, I entered a freezing bedroom in which the radiators were cold and the only heat source was a plug-in electric heater with took about an hour to elevate the room to comfortable levels. Although clean enough, the room was like the rest of DHH: desperately need of a spruce up.
Could definitely do better!More
