I've stayed at the hotel last month for a 2 weeks business trip. The hotel is in a vintage house, modified to be a hotel, with reasonable size rooms (by no means as big as a newly built hotel, but it was ok). As to be expected with an old house, no elevator, but the staff will help you with your luggage, if need be, to carry it to your room. I've stayed at the first floor, in the room right above the entrance/lounge area, with view to the park, and even as such, it was pretty quiet. Again, as to be expected with an old building, no air-con, which meant the room got pretty warm, by UK standards i would say quite hot. But one of the large windows could be opened, and the night chill refreshed the room to a bearable level. no mosquito net on the window on the other hand, so expect whatever bug wants to come in, it will.
Two things i didn't like:
1. cleanness. During the two weeks of my stay i don't think i got more than 2-3 towels that didn't have some sort of stain on it. They have been washed (i assume, by the touch of it), but probably not thoroughly enough. The bed sheet also had a coffee stain (i hope it was coffee) on it. By the time i left, was still there, not changed.
2. breakfast. The food was delicious, that is if you got it at all. During the week, the cook usually showed up, and with a 30-40 min wait time between ordering your food and getting it, you could indulge yourself with a variety of warm meals. No such luck on Sundays. Passed 9 o'clock when i left the hotel, with cook nowhere in sight.
So, all in all, it's a bargain, but don't expect too much if it.

Room Tip: park side rooms are fairly quiet

Hi Cherryl27,
Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback. Yes, being an old building each of our rooms is slightly different in dimensions, however we feel that's what makes us unique and each room has it's own distinct character. I'm sorry to hear that you were disappointed with certain standards of our cleanliness. We change all our bedding every third day on long stay bookings and towels are replaced daily. I will however flag these issues with our Head Housekeeper. We are also in the process of refurbishing and modernising all our rooms and have noted your comments re the heat in the room.
Likewise, thank you for your feedback regarding the delays on breakfast. We only use the freshest produce and cook everything from scratch so it can take a little longer than a pre-prepared breakfast. We are however investigating a different type of sausage, the item which takes the longest to cook, and this should speed things up considerably.
We'd love to welcome you back on your next visit to Liverpool so that you can experienced our new, improved offering.
Kindest regards
John

I love this place and always book it for me and my friends/family. It has wonderful views of Sefton Park and a lovely outdoor space. The rooms are clean and comfortable and very quiet. The staff are friendly and helpful. There is a lovely bar and restaurant and it’s only a short walk to the lovely Lark Lane. I would highly recommend!!

After reading mixed reviews on here, I must say I was pleasently suprised. Greeted by friendly staff on arrival to a nice sized clean room and bathroom. The only thing I could say was that when getting into bed we realised it was two single beds pushed together. We had selected a double bed room not a twin room. We didn't go and discuss this with staff as we are not really like that and had already got into bed but I'm sure the staff would of been happy to change the room to a double bed if that's what we would of asked. However, the mattresses were very comfy. The room had a kettle, tea, cups, glasses, tv, iron and iron board.
Would certainly stay here again. Don't let the not so good reviews put you off.
Thanks

Hi Zoe,
Thanks for your lovely feedback, really glad you enjoyed your stay with us. Some of our rooms have Zip & Link Beds, that is they can either be two singles or zipped together to become super kingsize. I'm sorry that yours had not been zipped correctly and have spoken to our head housekeeper about this. Would love to welcome you back when you next visit Liverpool :-)
Best regards

Bargain price for this perfectly reasonable hotel. Room and bathroom clean. Staff welcoming and very friendly. Ideal with the dogs with Sefton Park opposite to take them for a lovely walk. Would definitely stay again if we are in the area.

Would like to thank the staff at the hotel last night for putting on a screening of the match. Watching our lads out doors with a free barby lovely atmosphere made it easier when they lost. Thanks again.
