There was nothing about this rental that wasn't absolutely perfect in meeting our needs. We were two grown-up couples spending a special celebration weekend in Liverpool and we wanted everything to be just right. And it was.
The apartment is elegantly furnished, beautifully finished and impeccably clean with everything we could possibly need left thoughtfully right there for us: tea and biscuits, proper coffee and a proper coffee machine, bath and cleaning products, umbrellas and (I’ve never seen this before in a rental apartment!) a fairly priced, well stocked, refrigerated honesty-bar.
On arrival, the location at Waterloo Quay initially feels a little remote. But less than five minutes of walking along the main road puts you on the riverside walk straight to the Pier Head, Albert Dock and all of central, bustling Liverpool beyond. Door-to-door, the walk to the Pier Head took fifteen minutes where we had cocktails on the terrace of Matou pan-asian restaurant as we gazed up at the three graces. We didn’t eat there but we checked it out for another time when we could book one of the tables overlooking the river. Twenty minutes walk from the apartment took us to the rooftop Carpathia champagne terrace on the seventh floor of the James Street hotel where the afternoon teas looked just fabulous. And walking less than five minutes from the apartment we found the incredible Bacchus Greek restaurant where we had an amazing dinner with faultless service.
We were blessed with great weather while we were there, but Liverpool is known for its clear big skies anyway, so it was great to have the large private outside space with its table and chairs and the brilliant view of the dock. We didn’t use the brand new barbeque but it was all there for us had we wanted to. We just sat and relaxed and had our food delivered to us as we enjoyed every single moment of our stay.
