A return visit for a christmas lunch and just as well we booked as the restaurant was pretty full including a coach party of approx 50 people. Despite the numbers and how busy they were, we were still given a warm welcome and given a small bowl of olives to keep us going while they took all the orders. They did warn us there might be a slight delay while they served the large party but to be honest it was hardly noticeable and both the kitchen and waitresses were superb.
The fixed menu was excellent and I went for the melted camembert, followed by roast turkey Both were fabulous and probably the best roasted parsnips I've tasted for a long time. Honeycomb cheesecake for pud and how good was that. My wife had the lobster and scallop Thermidor and said it was one of the best dishes she has had.
Really impressed with the quality of the food, the flavours and how calm everything was. All added up to a fabulous lunchtime experience and one of the best pub restaurants I've been too.
Look forward to a return visit soon !!
