As always the most friendly welcome anyone can ever wish for when they have travelled a distance and just want to put their bags down and relax. My family and I will never stop coming to the Astoria as it is the best hotel in Blackpool, clean, tidy and relaxing.... What more can anyone ask for when they are away on a Break.

Room Tip: The family rooms are ideal for children with the bunk beds.

The major problem with this hotel is that there are all night parties next door at weekends, and I do mean ALLNIGHT. It is not possible to sleep in the rooms adjacent, and the owners know all about it but did not tell us.On the sunday morning they said that they called the police but I am not aware that they turned up.I eventually resorted to banging the wall ,but they just banged back and the language was foul. The shower did not work and there was no hot water. This was fixed that day.A waitress was very rude and slammed a toast rack down onto a plate between my wife and I.No discount was offered for the allnight disturbance. Our friends were in a room with no wardrobe,no chest of drawers and no chair. I could go on about cable extension reels, holes in doors, doors that will not shut, but I have better things to do.

Having read the reviews we had high hopes of a lovely night away. Having booked the majority of the hotel for a group trip we found that the hotel was poor. Although the bed was comfortable, the room clean and tidy the noise from the road outside kept us awake for the majority of the night. The noise from the next door room and the room from the next door hotel was enough to make a saint spit and we even considered vacating at 1:00am. With a hotel being within a gnats whisker of being full, you would have expected the resident bar to have been open to enable us to socailise as a group. This was not the case. Also, for a hotel that does not allow pets, there were two of their own dogs within distance, so those with allergies, beware.
We had high hopes for breakfast but had little choice. There was no menu for choice and the fruit (apples or pears) left little for the weight conscious to consider. The low fat yoghurts, weren't in my opinion and when one of our party requested scrambled rather than fried egg, they were told they couldn't have it. One couple were even given their Full English when it was plainly obvious that they had bearly started their cereal.
One of our party commented on the condition of their room further up the hotel, with holes within the bathroom walls.
We have been left with little option than to aviod this hotel and find it hard to believe that other guests haven't had the same problems.

Room Tip: Don't sleep at the front of the hotel, the road could be discribed as a rat run. The guests from...
