Stayed at the lady of the lake this weekend. Very relaxing. Had a walk down to bowness had a lovely meal at the lamplighters. Would deffinatly stay there again and recommend it to anyone.
The Lady of the Lake is a small but cosy home for those wanting to explore Windermere and the surrounding areas. Just a short walk to the towns of Windermere, Bowness-on-Windermere, and Ambleside there are plenty of nearby places to visit, as well as Windermere lake itself. The home is small but has everything needed and is situated in the grounds of an attractive manor with shared access to a private jetti Although we didn't get to meet Chris and James, Chris phoned us on the day of arrival to make sure we had everything we needed and was kind enough to find information to help us with a car issue.
Thanks to Christine for the homely extras of a drinks and yummy biscuits (including Bucks Fizz, endless tea coffee and hot chocolate) which reminded us why we love her as a hostess so much. Nothing is too much and she had cleaned throughout immaculately and insisted we didn’t clean excessively before leaving! Spectacular views welcomed us back and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay with mixed weather and something to do in every type! Really can’t wait for our next visit. Thanks Christine - another 6 nights in Lakes heaven......
The cottage is comfortable and lovingly furnished. We felt very welcomed there. The cottage was very clean and well equipped. And the view from the cottage is amazing!
We spent our honeymoon there and Christine did everything to make our stay special, and she certainly did :)
Before arriving, Christine was extremely helpful and lovely, recommending many must see sights.
On arrival, the cottage was everything we expected and more. It was beautifully presented and clean, as well as personal touches being added. The cottage was warm and cosy and the bed was lovely and comfy. The location is spectacular, with amazing views over the lake and the private jetty provided fantastic views at sunset. Very romantic!
Windemere is only a short walk away with many places to eat. There are many good walks near by including Orrest Head. Kendal is less than a 20 minute drive away where you can visit the castle ruins and the 1657 Chocolate House!
A perfect place to celebrate our anniversary and will definitely be booking again.
